Sydney Zaruba has done a lot since she was cast on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2, which means it's time to share what the former Below Deck star is up to. Sydney worked alongside the rest of the Parsifal III crew under the leadership of Captain Glenn Shephard and became known for taking her job as a deckhand seriously while the yacht sailed around Croatia. Like several of her BDSY co-stars, such as Daisy Kelliher, Sydney had years of experience working on the water before joining the Below Deck franchise, although she was relatively new to super yachts compared to the rest. Sydney's parents live on a sailboat in her youth, and she still helps them run their family charter boat, The Freedom.

Despite Sydney's strong performance as a deckhand on BDSY, she didn't leave the show without finding herself embroiled in drama like everyone else. After Sydney and First Officer Gary King hooked up at the beginning of season 2, Gary set his sights on Third Stew Alli Dore, leading to an awkward love triangle that saw Sydney and Alli go head-to-head. After hashing things out with Gary and Alli at the BDSY season 2 reunion, rumors began to swirl that Sydney was dating none other than Glenn after she revealed she was dating a captain. However, Glenn swiftly shut down speculations last summer.

While Sydney's current relationship status is unknown, the former BDSY star's life has changed a lot over the past year. Sydney, who was born in Florida, took a big leap and moved to the Spanish island of Mallorca. The move to Europe has only intensified Sydney's love of exploration, and the now-former deckhand has traded working on charter yachts to serving clients as a travel agent for Explorateur Travel, LLC. From creating custom itineraries to providing private tours, Sydney frequently shares traveling tips and advisories with her Instagram followers, especially during the continued COVID-19 pandemic. Besides showing off the beautiful beaches of Mallorca, Sydney has documented trips to many historically-rich countries, including Morocco, Greece, Sweden, Scotland, Portugal, and Italy.

When Sydney isn't busy serving as a travel advisor, the one-time reality star is echoing Daisy, Alli, and Dani Soares by hosting her own podcast, Nautical Nonsense. Instead of focusing on the Below Deck franchise like her former co-stars, Sydney's podcast details the history of sailing and the ocean as a whole. Sydney launched her podcast in November 2021, and with recent episodes including information on the Bermuda Triangle and sea monsters, Nautical Nonsense continues to hold onto its 5-star rating.

Although Sydney keeps her personal life private, it's clear that the former BDSY deckhand is enjoying life and has found her niche in travel. As a guide, influencer, and advisor, Sydney may not be returning to the Bravo series anytime soon, but Below Deck fans will be happy to know that Sydney is working just as hard as she did on the show. In the meantime, viewers can continue to check out Chief Stew Daisy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3, which is bringing just as much drama as there was in season 2.
