It seems like Ashley Marti is done with her Below Deck Sailing Yacht career as she recently shaded Bravo for its low paycheck. Ashley was the third stew on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3, and she soon became one of the most controversial cast members of the franchise. After Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher made Gabriela Barragan the second stew over Ashley, the yachtie became highly competitive with her superior. Gabriela got fed up with the toxic work environment and left Parsifal III mid-season.
Ashley also caused a stir when she aggressively chased after the First Mate, Gary King. After initially flirting with her, he eventually rebuffed her advances as he knew things would become complicated. Ashley was fixated on hooking up with Gary and, during a drunken night, led him to a guest cabin. Although Gary was heard telling Ashley, "No," she still had sex with him. Gary claims not to have remembered anything the next morning, but Ashley reminded him that they had briefly slept together. Many Below Deck Sailing Yacht viewers were outraged at Ashley’s actions and believed she had sexually assaulted him. After receiving a lot of backlash from fans, Ashley skipped out on the season 3 reunion.
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht alum made headlines yet again when she announced she was joining OnlyFans last month. In a recent tweet, Ashley threw shade by writing, “Just want to thank @BravoWWHL for all the free OF publicity. I love waking up and seeing that in a couple hours, I’ve made more money than #Bravo paid me for 6 weeks.” She also added a gif of a woman throwing a pile of money into the air. While some viewers wish her success, many fans slammed Ashley for using her short moment of fame to make a quick buck.
Ashley wasn’t the only one to comment on Bravo’s low pay for the Below Deck crew. Former Below Deck bosun Eddie Lucas shared that the cast members were the lowest-paid reality stars in the Bravo world. While the crew makes their usual salary by working on yachts, Eddie complained that Bravo doesn’t pay them nearly as much as The Real Housewives. While it was Ashley’s decision to leave Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Eddie revealed that he wasn’t invited back for another season and wasn’t even notified by the producers.
Fans were disappointed when Ashley announced she wouldn’t be attending the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 reunion as they wanted her to take accountability for her actions during her time on the show. Although Gary defended her during the reunion and didn’t believe she sexually assaulted him, viewers wanted to hear her take on the situation. Many also wanted Ashley to show humility and apologize for how she treated Gabriela, along with Gary. However, Ashley’s tweet shows she hasn’t grown from the experience and is using her short stint on Below Deck Sailing Yacht to extend her fifteen minutes of fame.
