Below Deck Mediterranean Fans believe that Peter Hunziker deserved to be fired for his blatant sexism on the show. From day one Pete has presented himself as a man who only puts himself first, no matter who he hurts in the long run.

The current season is showing off the power behind girl power thanks to an all-female leadership team. Captain Sandy Yawn is back at the helm with Hannah Ferrier covering the interior and Malia White on deck. Most of the cast seems to fit in with the exception of Pete. From day one, he has called Malia “sweetie” and even stumbled over his words during dinner about how a woman could run a business, then he could too.

While episodes keep airing, it has become painfully obvious that Pete has little respect for women in the workplace. On Monday’s all-new episode he was caught speaking sarcastically to Captain Sandy after he undid the wrong ground line. When his boss Malia called him out on his mistake, he tried to deny it. Pete’s extreme villain moment came when he goes to tell the other lead deckhand that Malia always has to have the last word. The Bravo personality did not care or realize that cameras had caught him in the lie. Check out Bravo's Instagram post:

Peter's past discrepancies are now coming to light in lieu of the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement. Fans had screen captured a story of his where he posted a meme of a black woman tied up and naked with a caption, "When black men been doing you wrong your whole life and you decide to date a nice caucasian guy Peter from Whole Foods."

The meme, in and of itself was distasteful, but the way that Peter reacted to the backlash was almost just as bad. Peter defended the post by saying it was not racist and that he loves "all women." He even told followers to "relax," defending himself by saying that it was just meme. The fact that the reality star had no idea just how ignorant he presented himself was cause enough to have him axed from the show. He then thought he could smooth the brouhaha over by saying that he's "VERY sexually active with all races." Fans were incensed, writing to Bravo producer, Andy Cohen for some kind of action to rectify the situation.

It is safe to say that the lead deckhand will not be missed. Pete’s poor judgment and bro like attitude have no place on the Bravo network since they have begun to clean house. Season 5 is currently still airing with Pete still in episodes and set up as the main character, but producers are trying to edit him out to limit his visibility. Pete has joined multiple other Bravolebrities like Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Brett Caprioni, and Max Boyens who were fired from Vanderpump Rules for their racist remarks.
