Bosun Malia White first joined Below Deck Mediterranean season 2 and later returned for Below Deck Med season 5. During her first season, Malia started as a deckhand and moved up to lead deckhand later on in the season. When Malia returned for Below Deck Med season 5, she was promoted again to bosun, becoming the first female leader of the outdoor crew in the history of the series.

Viewers were not too pleased with Malia during Below Deck Med season 5. They started to turn against her after she brought it to Captain Sandy Yawn's attention that chief steward Hannah Ferrier had illegal Valium and a vape onboard. She even took photographic evidence of what she found. After bringing this matter to the captain, Sandy called in Hannah and fired her immediately. After this incident, viewers completely turned against Malia, calling her a snitch. However, Malia did return for Below Deck Med season 6 but has since left the series behind her.

Malia White's Age, Background & Career

Malia was born on July 20, 1990, in Florida. While there isn't much information about her parents, she does have five older brothers, according to Gossip Gist. Her father worked in the boatyard, which potentially led to her love of the sea. After discovering her love for the ocean, Malia, who looks unrecognizable, decided to begin a career in yachting. She then joined Below Deck Med season 2 on the yacht, Sirocco, which sailed around Croatia. Malia started on the boat as a regular deckhand but moved up halfway through the season of Below Deck Med season 5 to become lead deckhand. Post-show, Malia finally got her Officer of the Watch license, so one day she will be behind the wheel of a boat.

Malia White's Personal Life

As for her dating life, Malia has been known to begin relationships with those she works. In Below Deck Med season 2, she found herself in a love triangle with Chef Adam Glick and her Below Deck bosun Wesley Walton. She and Adam met before the charter began and started a secret love affair while working on the yacht. After meeting Wes, Malia began to develop feelings for him as well. After the love triangle was revealed, it started a massive fight between the men. A few years later, Malia began a relationship with Tom Checketts, who replaced Kiko Lorran as the chef on Below Deck Med season 5. However, the couple broke up in the fall of 2020. Malia then started dating Jake Baker, who was the engineer during Below Deck Med season 6. The couple reportedly broke up in December 2022.

Since Below Deck Mediterranean season 6 ended, Malia has been working hard in the yachting industry. While she has no plans to return to the show in the future, she is one of the most iconic crew members in the show's history. Maybe one day fans will see Malia return as a captain one day.
