Ahead of the Below Deck Mediterranean season six premiere, Malia White was hospitalized after getting into a scooter accident. Malia made her return this season as bosun following the backlash she got the year prior for snitching on former chief stew Hannah Ferrier. She discovered Hannah had unregistered Valium and a vape pen on board and decided to snap a picture of the items. She sent the photo to Captain Sandy, who later fired Hannah for having them on the vessel.

Malia was introduced to the viewers at the beginning of season two as a deckhand. Malia began two relationships on board with Chef Adam and bosun Wes. However, Adam became too possessive of her, and she decided to focus on her relationship with Wes. They dated for a while after but broke up a few years before she returned for season five. Last season, Malia was in a relationship with Tom Checkett's who joined the ship later on as a chef. However, she and Tom broke up shortly after the reunion was filmed.

On Wednesday, two days after the Below Deck Med season six premiere, the 30-year-old recently got into a scooter accident while in Mallorca, Spain, and shared photos from before and after her accident on her Instagram. "BEFORE PHOTO: had an amazing day exploring the island of Mallorca with my crew mates by scooter!" Malia captioned her first post, noting, "But it didn't end as nicely as it started..." Less than an hour later, Malia shared a selfie of her in a hospital bed with scrapes all over her face and hand. The second photo showed her legs wrapped in gauze from her ankles to her thighs.

In the caption, the bosun took the opportunity to urge her followers to always wear a helmet. "We usually share the pretty stuff, but this is the important stuff- I'm sharing this to express the importance of always wearing a helmet," Malia started the lengthy caption, adding the helmet, "literally saved her life." The reality star continued on, revealing she has been riding scooters for years and wasn't even drinking at the time of the accident. Luckily, Malia walked away from the accident with a fractured elbow, broken toes, and severe road rash. Furthermore, Malia, who worked with Katie Flood, thanked her crew members in her Stories who "flagged down a car who happened to be an off-duty police officer" and gave her medical attention until the ambulance arrived.

Malia didn't get to spend the premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean celebrating like the rest of her crew members. However, she is lucky to alive, and the incident wasn't any worse. Hopefully, Malia is able to make a speedy recovery and will be feeling better when the second episode airs.
