Malia White is sharing the juicy details on how she discovered her ex-boyfriend, Below Deck Mediterranean chef Tom Checketts's infidelity issue. Malia has been cast as the villain, thanks to her part in Hannah Ferrier's firing, but she is ready to open up about her rough breakup.
When Malia was introduced to the viewers at the beginning of season two, she was a green deckhand, but now she is a seasoned bosun with years of experience under her belt. Fans watched as the chef at the time, Adam, fell madly in love with her but became way too overbearing. Wes, the bosun, also had feelings for her, and it became a three-way boatmance. Malia returned for season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean and brought along her boyfriend, Tom. The British chef was extremely fussy, and she babied him most of the way. But after the reunion, the couple called it quits.
As Below Deck Mediterranean fans may know, Tom cheated on Malia. When the bosun found out about the scandal, she explained to Us Weekly that "all hell broke loose." The love birds split over a year ago, but Bravo viewers are just starting to learn about the true nature of their breakup. The 31-year-old shared that the incident occurred while they were working on different boats when the pandemic hit. Tom and Malia weren't allowed to see one another, and Tom ended up finding someone else on his boat to keep his bed warm at night. But Malia didn't find out until a few months later.
Evidently, the Bravo star found out through a mutual friend. Tom and Malia have since talked through the issue with the bosun saying the chef is super apologetic now. Bravo fans already saw in the newest season that Tom texted her, but Malia has no desire to rekindle those burned-out flames, saying he is not for her. She learned one valuable lesson from the failed relationship: to keep love and work completely separate.
Currently, Malia is leading the deck crew in a spotless Below Deck Mediterranean season thus far. She has a great crew consisting of Mzi Dempers, David Pascoe, and Lloyd Spencer. The team is working hand-in-hand to have one great charter season. Of course, there may be love in the air as David recently asked Malia her thoughts on a potential hook-up. While David is a great catch, the odds are good Malia will steer clear, even if it is for her own sanity.
