Chef Mathew Shea from Below Deck Mediterranean season 6 recently referred to Captain Sandy Yawn as one of the worst captains he has ever worked with. Viewers have been watching the tension between Mathew and Sandy since the very first episode of the season. Sandy wasn't too pleased with the chef after he left the team twice just a few charters apart.

Mathew first left right before the start of the first charter, leaving the rest of the crew to cook dinner for the charter guests. He then abandoned ship again after a crew night out when he felt the crew wasn't treating him fairly. Mathew returned the following day, blaming his sudden departure on the alcohol. Captain Sandy could no longer trust Mathew and told him charter three would be his last. However, Sandy saw Mathew work really hard through the charter and decided to let him stay. Now, it seems as though Sandy may have regretted her decision.

In a sneak peek of tonight's Below Deck Med season 6 reunion, per Us Weekly, Mathew and Sandy go at it after she admits she would never work with the chef again. "I like reliability and dependability. Mathew’s a great guy, but after watching the show, people who poke the bear…it’s a little hard," Captain Sandy explained. "I don’t see everything. So, when I watched the show, I was actually mortified." After Sandy admitted her true feelings towards Mathew, he immediately pushed back, calling her out for being a horrible captain. "I regret the bad moments I have, but I think I am a good employee, and I think Captain Sandy is one of the worst captains I’ve ever worked with in my 15 years on boats," Mathew confessed. The TV personality felt Sandy was judging him based on one day of his life and feels he is being treated unfairly by her.

On October 17, Mathew took to social media in a since-deleted tweet and called out his former captain for calling him inappropriate names after a fan asked him why he was so unhappy with Sandy. "It had a lot to do with @CaptSandyYawn calling me a p–ssy and telling me to go f–k myself. #leadership," he revealed. In a separate tweet, Mathew explained Sandy called him these names in front of the crew. "Totally uncalled for in any work place. Especially as the Boss," he concluded.

Sandy has said throughout the season that if it wasn't for the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, she would have let Mathew go sooner. The captain told Us Weekly previously that quarantine for a new chef would have taken way too long, plus the guests loved his food. At the time, Sandy saw no reason to fire him, but her thoughts have clearly changed since the show aired. Will Mathew and Sandy make amends by the end of the reunion, or will they be enemies forever? Judging by Mathew's recent tweets, it seems they are still not on good terms.
