There has been a lot of curiosity and speculation surrounding Below Deck Mediterranean star Rob Westergaard and his love life.
The 30-year-old deckhand had undeniable chemistry with co-worker Jess More on season 5. The ridiculously good-looking couple was practically inseparable during their time on the yacht—cameras captured the two stealing kisses in the laundry room, sleeping in the same cabin, and dropping the L-word after a few short weeks. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing: Rob got into hot water when chief stew Hannah told Jess Rob posted a photo of him kissing a woman and wrote “missing your touch” in his Instagram Story. Rob denied having a girlfriend to the cast, but in an interview during the episode, said he broke off the relationship, “even though it's like an open experience." The same woman/ex-girlfriend was also texting him in the final episodes of the season, which became a red flag for Jess, and the two are no longer dating.
Although Rob’s ex has an elusive identity and has not publicly commented on the situation, she has reached out to Jess. In an interview on Watch What Happens Live, the reality star and Rob’s ex-girlfriend have talked on the phone a few times. The two “compared notes” and found they both had similar relationships with Rob. Most recently, Madison Stalker from Below Deck Sailing Yacht revealed she had been dating Rob since April. Similar to his relationship with Jess, Madison said things moved quickly, and she was falling hard for him, with the two making future plans. Rob and Madison also spent time in West Palm Beach together, where he met her friends and father. Now, it appears Rob ghosted Madison after telling her he was going to finish an interview and text her, but didn't communicate for more than two weeks.
There is nothing worse than being ghosted by someone one trusts and admires. It is particularly hard when friends and family are involved. In Madison’s case, even a quick text from Rob saying he wanted to break things off would have given her a little clarity and closure. However, it seems that is Rob’s MO: it is still not clear if he had a girlfriend at the start of the show. Per BravoTV, during the Below Deck Mediterranean season 5 after show, Rob revealed he's still in love with Jess. However, it seems likely she'll be a little more hesitant about pursuing a relationship going forward.
