Malia White may not be the most likable from Below Deck Mediterranean, but she did make a great bosun. The reality TV star joined the series during season 2 as a green deckhand. Despite her love triangle with bosun Wes Walton and Chef Adam Glick, Malia had great potential for a successful career in yachting.
After three seasons away from Below Deck Med, Malia returned for season 5 as the first-ever female bosun in Below Deck franchise history. Her deck team included Peter Hunziker, Alex Radcliffe, and Robert Westergaard. Despite a few ups and downs with certain members of the team, Malia was able to handle herself better than any male bosun.
However, Malia received a lot of backlash during Below Deck Med season 5 for ratting out Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier for having valium and a vape pen onboard. Hannah was immediately fired by Captain Sandy Yawn, and viewers were not pleased with either of them. Malia was able to redeem herself during Below Deck Med season 6, and viewers forgot about her mishaps. Now, they are reminiscing on some of Malia's best moments as a bosun.
When Malia Stood Up To Peter
During Below Deck Med season 7, Malia stood up to former lead deckhand Peter Hunziker. After a series of misogynistic comments toward Malia and second stew turned Chief Stew, Bugsy Drake, Malia knew she had to have a talk with Peter. After the deckhand had a chat with Captain Sandy, Malia decided to demote Peter from lead deckhand to a regular deckhand. To take his place, Malia rewarded Alex with the promotion.
Malia Comforting Lloyd
During Below Deck Med season 6, when the crew had a night off, Malia was there for her deckhand Lloyd Spencer after he revealed he was sexually fluid. While opening up about his sexuality and receiving nothing but love from Malia and the rest of the crew, Malia admitted that she also has experimented with her sexuality. She wanted Lloyd to know that she and the crew don't care about his sexual preference and ensured him how much she loved having him as a part of her team. Lloyd had a horrible experience before the series that made him wary of the boating industry, but Malia helped him realize not all yachties are bad.
Malia Helping Her Team On Season 6
Malia turned over a new leaf on Below Deck Med season 6. After the backlash she received during season 5, Malia made an effort to look out for her team and her team only. She did her best to stay away from third stew Lexi Wilson's drama with the interior team and focused on helping Lloyd, David Pascoe, and Mzi Dempers on deck. Even though Malia won't be making any more memories as bosun on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, she made her mark over the last two seasons.
