Kate Chastain from Below Deck recently announced she is pregnant, and fans believe she will make a great mother. The former chief stew is known for her straightforward, no-nonsense attitude while she was on the popular Bravo series. While Kate knew how to have fun with the crew, she was never afraid to tell someone the truth, even if it hurt.
Kate joined the franchise for Below Deck season 2 and became a staple until she left in 2020. After six seasons of working under Captain Lee Rosbach, Kate decided it was time to hang up her lapels and plant her feet firmly on land. Even though she made each charter unforgettable for all her guests toward the end of her career, Kate fell out of love with yachting and wanted to try life on land full-time. Fans can still see her on Bravo as she hosts Below Deck Galley Talk, which will return in the new year.
Kate Chastain Is Happy Welcome Her Child Alone
During a surprise appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on December 13, Kate, who expecting her first child, shared that she was going to do it "solo" after Andy asked if anyone was in the picture. Kate stepped out in a bright red gown, to which Andy noted that Kate was going to be a "great mom." Below Deck fans know Katie's job as a chief stew trained her perfectly for the role of a mother. During her old job, Kate was in charge of ordering around the stews below her, which isn't much different from actual parenting.
Kate Chastain Knows Her Baby's Gender
Kate also confirmed on WWHL that she knows the gender of her baby but told Andy she wants to keep it a secret. The reality star also revealed that she had a "family name" already picked out. Even though Kate, whose been called a bad chief stew, is welcoming her child as a single mother, the Florida native has a lot of support around her. Her parents, Michael and Jerri, are close by in Melbourne, Florida, so they will help Kate whenever she needs it. Kate also has two brothers and two sisters, so it is safe to assume that Baby Chastain will be loved and spoiled.
There is no doubt that Kate will be a cool mom as she was always a fan favorite among the Below Deck fans. While her life will change in the coming months, Kate seems ready for her new role as a mother. Fans are excited about Kate's birth announcement in 2023.
