Although long-term cast member Chef Rachel Hargrove has had a quiet time in season 10 compared to her prior appearances, fans believe she's also responsible for how some issues have panned out.
One significant feud on Below Deck season 10 is between Captain Sandy Yawn and Chief Stew Fraser Olender. Captain Sandy, who replaced Captain Lee after the latter exited the show due to health issues, has had a hard time since coming aboard the yacht. She first had to deal with the feud between Stews Camille Lamb and Alissa Humber before her relationship with Chief Stew Fraser completely broke down, resulting in the two exchanging words and Fraser daring Captain Sandy to fire him. Rachel had a chance to play mediator and peacemaker, but her behavior added fuel to the fire, and fans accused the chef of betraying her crew mates.
Below Deck Fans Accuse Rachel of Betraying Fraser To Seek Sandy’s Approval
After noting the stews' ineffective performance, Captain Sandy invited Chef Rachel to tea to discuss Fraser and his subordinates. Sandy also asked Rachel to keep an eye on Fraser's activities and see if he was working hard in his role. However, due to her experience and interaction with Fraser, many fans expected Rachel to advise and support him. Instead, Rachel did Sandy’s bidding by spying on Fraser. Rachel Often Blamed The Interior Crew
Besides spying for Captain Sandy, fans watched Chef Rachel blame the interior crew when something goes wrong. The chef sometimes got her timing wrong and would keep guests waiting for a long time before getting their meal, and Rachel’s ineffectiveness sometimes made Fraser question why the food took too long. However, during her interactions with Sandy, Rachel would throw Fraser and the interior crew under the bus to please the captain.
Watching Chef Rachel cozying up to Captain Sandy by speaking ill of Fraser disappointed Below Deck fans who felt Rachel was on a redemption journey. For most of Below Deck season 10, Chef Rachel stayed away from drama and was one of the seniors the crew looked to for guidance.
