The crew members on the new series Below Deck Down Under don't seem too thrilled with their chef Ryan McKeown. The new Peacock series aired its first two episodes on the streaming service on March 17, a month after the trailer was released. The series takes place in Australia's tropical Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef while onboard the superyacht M/Y Thalassa. Fans of the Below Deck franchise may recognize a familiar face from this series as Below Deck Mediterranean's Aesha Scott is the new chief stewardess.

When the trailer was released last month, fans of Below Deck were excited to see another series born out of the franchise. What also took them by surprise was the very attractive Captain Jason Chambers. In fact, one of the female guests this season will even try to hit on the Captain during one of their themed costume parties. With the addition of boatmances and high-maintenance guests, Below Deck Down Under seems like another success to come out of the franchise.

In an interview with Us Weekly, new chief stew Aesha spoke about why the crew isn't a fan of Chef Ryan, including herself. "If arrogant was, like, personified, it would be Ryan. He’s a very arrogant man," Aesha, who doesn't regret her Jack Stirrup fling, told the news publication of the chef. "I think that that’s something that everyone — not just as a chef — it’s kind of difficult to be around anyone that’s arrogant." While the rest of the crew was annoyed by Ryan, Aesha was used to it since she's been working in the yachting industry for so long. She said every chef, to some extent, is "a difficult toddler," and now she just expects every chef to act this way. Ryan was no different than any other chef Aesha has worked with in the past. Aesha did have to work with Chef Ben Robinson before, a well-known, sometimes difficult chef from the franchise.

Fans were anticipating issues between Chef Ryan and the crew, but it seems there were no issues with Captain Jason as enjoyed everyone on board, including Ryan. In an interview Jason did with Us Weekly, he admitted that they all "had a great time" together and even complimented Ryan's chef skills. However, he did reveal that Ryan likes to "stir up drama" the most out of everyone in the crew. However, Captain Jason isn't scared to let someone go if they aren't contributing to a positive environment. "There’s gonna be ups and downs [...] these guests are paying money, and we need to constantly not lose [..] focus," he said, adding if any of the crew members "can’t see that or they have an attitude," as the captain, Jason isn't afraid to make some changes to the Below Deck Down Under crew.

Even though Chef Ryan was public enemy number one amongst the crew members, it seems they were able to get through the charter season in one piece. Despite Ryan acting arrogant towards everyone, especially Aesha, the crew was able to work together to overcome the chef's arrogance. It seems like Ryan might be a Chef Adam Click 2.0.
