Peacock has released a new trailer for Bel-Air season 2 ahead of its February premiere. The iconic Will Smith comedy received a dramatic reimagining in 2022 from Peacock. While still maintaining the main story of the sitcom, Bel-Air takes the franchise in a much more serious and modern direction. Through the current reboot on Peacock, Bel-Air explores social topics via Will and the entire Banks family.

Now, Bel-Air season 2 is getting ready to premiere on Peacock next month. Bel-Air season 2 will see Will “at a crossroads" when a new figure enters his life and challenges what he’s discovered while living in Bel-Air.

At the very end of Bel-Air season 1, the show got into some of its most intense moments ever. As Will learned the truth about his father, he ran away to figure things out. Peacock has debuted a brand new Bel-Air season 2 trailer, giving another glimpse at the show's second year. Bel-Air season 2 is currently scheduled to premiere on Thursday, February 23.

Everything We Know About Bel-Air Season 2

Bel-Air season 2 will have a slightly different creative team when the show returns next month. Carla Banks Waddles is taking over for T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson as the new showrunner. As far as the characters go, a recurring theme in Bel-Air season 2 will be everyone trying to juggle multiple struggles. According to Peacock, the brotherhood between Will and Carlton will "start to evolve as they grow closer." Another dynamic that will face its own set of challenges is between Hilary and Jazz as she gets further into her influencer goals.

One of the biggest takeaways from the new Bel-Air season 2 trailer was the reveal of another Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star appearing in the reboot. The footage sees Tatyana Ali, who played Ashley Banks in the original series for six seasons. In Bel-Air, Ali will be portraying a new character named Mrs. Hughes, who is the English Literature teacher at Bel-Air middle school. According to Peacock, Mrs. Hughes "sees something personal in Ashley, often giving her books from her personal collection." Ali is the third Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star to appear in the reboot, following Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv) and Vernee Watson-Johnson (Vy Smith.)

Based on the latest Bel-Air season 2 trailer alone, the Peacock drama will have its plate full when it returns in February. Thanks to Bel-Air season 1, which served as a foundation, the potential for season 2 is endless. Given its new format, Bel-Air can go even deeper with the characters in ways that Fresh Prince of Bel-Air couldn't do at the time. It will also be fun to see Ali's new character, especially as she engages with Bel-Air's version of Ashley, who is played by Akira Akbar. As Will and the Banks family continue their stories in Bel-Air season 2, it will be intriguing to see how the new season steps up from season 1.
