Fans of 90 Day Fiancé have called for the franchise to start featuring new and authentic couples, and 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 5 appears to be answering fans' needs. The new season of 90 Day Fiancé franchise content will follow seven new couples as they explore their international relationships before they obtain K-1 fiancé visas to live together in the United States. Along with the excitement of new couples in general, fresh duo Caleb and Alina also have one of the most unique stories in the franchise to share with audiences.
With the current season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way being panned by viewers for airing recycled drama, many fans are looking forward to Before The 90 Days. The only reoccurring cast member on the spin-off show, which is one of the best-received spin-offs in the franchise, is Usman "Sojaboy" Umar. The notorious ex-husband of Lisa "Baby Girl Lisa" Hamme will be back with another older American woman. However, the other six couples will contain all-new cast members with fresh and interesting stories from around the world. Newcomers Caleb and Alina share one of the most authentic and unique stories.
Recently, EW profiled the seven new Before The 90 Days couples, who can also be seen in a season trailer shared to the official @90dayfiancé YouTube channel. EW shares that Caleb is a 28-year-old from Chandler, Arizona, while Alina is a 27-year-old from Saint Petersburg, Russia. The young couple first connected on social media and became close friends as teens before losing touch for 13 years. A chance matching on a dating app brought Caleb and Alina back together as Caleb was planning a visit to Russia. Though Caleb didn’t end up going to Russia, his connection with Alina was reignited and the two developed romantic feelings. The couple is finally ready to meet in person and discover if their romantic connection is the real deal, but there is a major issue they must face. EW describes Alina as a “little person,” a condition that makes it difficult for her to walk or stand for long periods.
Since Caleb is a free spirit, the Before The 90 Days couple might be affected by Alina’s condition interfering too much with his lifestyle. Caleb is shown to be quite active in the trailer, and he enjoys running. “Alina and I have a deep connection, but I’m worried what other people would say is a massive difference between us,” Caleb says in the clip. Meanwhile, Alina is shown being terrified of her first encounter with Steven. “I’m scared he’s going to see me in the wheelchair, he’s going to go, ew,” she told the cameras. Another obstacle the couple will have to face is Caleb earning the trust and approval of Alina’s best friend and roommate Elijah, who is described as being very protective of her.
Like American and Russian The Other Way couple Steven and Alina, Caleb and his Alina will meet up in Turkey. The difficulty of traveling between Russia and America due to the pandemic has already been explored on The Other Way. Caleb and Alina, however, are shaping up to be a far more authentic couple, as they have a deep emotional connection. However, the duo will have to discover if Alina’s condition is something that is compatible with Caleb’s lifestyle.
