The Arrowverse will really get into the Christmas spirit this year — with an animated special centered on Legends of Tomorrow's Beebo confirmed. Joining The CW's shared DC Comics-inspired universe in 2016, the Legends have become one of TV's quirkiest ensembles. Along the way, they've made recognizable figures of lesser-known superheroes and original Arrowverse characters. Chief among them was the cuddly character known as Beebo. Debuting in Legends of Tomorrow season 3, episode 9, "Beebo the God of War", the figure has recurred as something of a mascot to the titular team and a running joke within the wider Arrowverse.
Showing no signs of stopping, Legends of Tomorrow is now in its sixth season and has already been renewed for a seventh. According to The CW (via EW), things will go a step even further later in 2021. The network has ordered three animated specials for the festive season: one based on Scooby Doo, one centered on The Waltons, and one about Beebo. Written by Matt Maala and Kevin Shinick, the special will be titled Beebo Saves Christmas. When exactly fans will be able to tune in has yet to be revealed. Equally unknown is whether any known Arrowverse superheroes will cameo. It will, however, feature a star-studded voice cast — including (fittingly) former Legends of Tomorrow star Victor Garber as The Narrator.
The official synopsis reads: In the all-new animated one-hour special Beebo Saves Christmas, everyone’s favorite fuzzy toy turned furry god will once again be a hero as he hopes to save Christmas. When Sprinkles, an efficiency-obsessed elf, decides that Christmas would run better without Santa Claus, Beebo and his friends travel to the North Pole to help discover what truly makes Christmas meaningful.
Alongside Garber as The Narrator, the Beebo Saves Christmas cast will be comprised of Ben Diskin as the voice of Beebo, Kimiko Glenn as the voice of Tweebo, Community's Yvette Nicole Brown as the voice of Turbo, Keith Ferguson as the voice of Fleabo, Chris Kattan as the voice of Sprinkles, Ghostbusters' Ernie Hudson as the voice of Santa. In the meantime, fans will be able to see whether or not Beebo makes an earlier Arrowverse return as Legends of Tomorrow and the other shows continue their current seasons.
