Bedazzled co-stars Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley reunite at a screening of The Whale. Fraser got his start in Hollywood in the 90s as the leading man in quirky comedies like Encino Man, Airheads, and George of the Jungle. The actor went on to lead the fantasy action adventure franchise The Mummy from 1999 to 2008. After a decade without leading roles in feature films, Fraser is back in the spotlight as the star of Darren Aronofsky film The Whale, which has already generated Oscar buzz for the actor.

Two iconic stars of the early 2000s, Hurley and Fraser starred alongside each other in the Faustian Harold Ramis comedy Bedazzled (2000), a remake of the 1967 British comedy of the same name. In the film, Fraser played geeky office worker Elliot who makes a deal with the Devil (Hurley) in order to land the girl of his dreams. However, Hurley's Devil puts ironic and hilarious twists on each of his wishes, and Elliot must find a creative way to save his soul. The fun and clever movie earned both stars some critical acclaim and, though Bedazzled was panned by some critics upon release, it has achieved cult status in the two decades since its debut.

EW documented the costars' reunion at a recent screening of The Whale. Since Bedazzled, Hurley hasn't starred in many features either, though her many television roles include Morgan le Fay in Hulu and Marvel's Runaways. Hurley was one of many stars in attendance at the London screening of The Whale with her son, and she and Fraser made time to snap a photo together, commemorating the sweet reunion. Brendan Fraser Has Earned Lots Of Support Since His Comeback

Brendan Fraser looks on in The Whale

Fraser's fans aren't the only ones buzzing about his feature film comeback. Hurley is the latest of his previous co-stars to show up in support of the actor after his turbulent past in the industry. At the Toronto International Film Festival, where a screening of The Whale earned one of several standing ovations, Fraser and his Mummy 3 co-star Michelle Yeoh also shared a heartwarming reunion. In addition, Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Batgirl director Adil El Arbi have all taken to social media to praise the actor's recent success and share heartfelt praise for the star.

Twenty-two years after Bedazzled, it's a treat for viewers to see Hurley and Fraser together again, but it's even more satisfying to see Fraser supported by his peers after the hardships that kept him out of the limelight for so long. After the high praise he has earned for his comeback role in The Whale, Fraser is also set to star in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, showing that The Whale is just the beginning of his career renaissance. The actor has also expressed being open to reprising his iconic role in The Mummy, so perhaps more of his classic and nostalgic films, such as Bedazzled, are on the table for a revival.
