Leader Arlo and Team Go Rocket are back once again in February 2023 for Trainers to take on in Pokemon Go. Along with fellow Team Go Rocket leaders in Pokemon Go, Cliff and Sierra, Arlo shouldn't provide many problems for Trainers that set up with the right team for battle. By using Pokemon and counters that have an advantage over Arlo's lineup, Trainers should be able to come out on top.
Arlo's team in Pokemon Go has changed from January 2023, as part of the Team Go Rocket Takeover event meaning the leader will now start with Poison-type Nidoran in February. After defeating the Generation 1 Pokémon, Trainers will next go up against one of Crobat, Steelix or Cradily. Arlo's last Pokemon will be either, Charizard, Scizor or Armaldo giving the leader a range of types that Trainers need to prepare for.
Best February 2023 Counters for Arlo in Pokémon GO
Arlo's latest team will provide a challenge for Trainers, but several Pokémon have similar weaknesses making him easier to overcome. Arlo needs to be defeated for Trainers to have the opportunity to face Team Go Rocket Leader Giovanni in Pokémon GO.
According to Dexerto, Arlo's opening Pokémon Nidoran and possible second Pokemon Crobat are both weak to Psychic-types. Trainers should include one of these to get on top early in the battle. Combing this with a Pokémon with Rock-type moves that are effective against Crobat, Charizard, and Armaldo should allow Trainers to defeat Arlo without too many problems.
For a third choice, a good option for Trainers is a Fire-type Pokemon that is super effective against Scizor, one of Arlo's possible final Pokemon, whilst also having an advantage over Steelix. If Trainers match up Pokémon with move sets of the same type it will also be easier to defeat Leader Arlo in Pokemon Go.
