Big Brother’s Taylor Hale and Monte Taylor have gone from enemies to allies since the beginning of the summer-long competition. Both members of Big Brother season 24’s cast have played their hardest throughout the competition this summer, and while they have been aligned on and off throughout the game, their relationship has not always been pleasant. Throughout the series, Big Brother has seen its fair share of rivals who ultimately decide to work together to benefit their game, and while this season is no different, fans find themselves surprised to see Taylor and Monte following through with their alliance. Seeing them working in tandem is yet another unpredictable moment from Big Brother's twist-filled season.

While Taylor Hale has spent the majority of the season on the outs with various cast members, her alignment with Monte has been somewhat active since the formation of The Leftovers alliance in week three. The Leftovers alliance included Taylor, Monte, fellow houseguests Brittany Hoopes and Matt Turner, and jury members Joseph Abdin, Michael Bruner, and Kyle Capener. This alliance ruled the Big Brother house during the early weeks of the competition, winning Head of Household from week 3 through week seven and Veto competitions for the first seven weeks, except for the week 7 Dyre Fest Veto, which went to Terrance. While Taylor and Monte were aligned early in the competition, they still spent the beginning of the summer at odds. Between Taylor’s perceived negative attitude towards the house, which has changed since Taylor's BB HOH win in week six, and Monte putting Taylor up on the nomination block earlier in the Big Brother game, the pair had a rocky start to their relationship.

Taylor and Monte have gone from begrudgingly working together at the beginning of the competition to tentative allies, to now fans believing they could be developing a Big Brother showmance. Though they were in The Leftovers alliance together, Monte chose to put Taylor on the nomination block as a replacement nominee during his HOH reign in week four, and now again. Even though Taylor has been aligned with Monte and their alliance has always had the majority of votes, she has not been happy with the choice to put her up either time. Within the first week of the competition, Taylor was mistreated by other Big Brother guests who called her fake and blamed her for Paloma Aguilar’s self-eviction.

Due to this backlash in the house, Taylor feared that being placed on the nomination block would allow other house guests to evict her. Big Brother’s motto is to expect the unexpected, and while Taylor felt that Monte should have kept her safe, she was smart to expect the votes could fall differently. Ultimately, these nominations have ensured that Taylor’s trust in Monte has been a bit shaky throughout the summer. Now, as the Big Brother competition nears its end with the final five in place, Taylor and Monte have a newfound closeness. Within the last week, the two took their relationship to the next level and BB's Taylor and Monte shared a kiss in the HOH room. While some fans were shocked to see the pair, who have openly jabbed at each other with fellow house guests, others felt it was inevitable to see them hooking up.

While Taylor and Monte are both strong players, a showmance this late in the game could easily ruin their strategies. While it does seem like the two are finally aligned and working together, if the other house guests find out about their kiss, it could be catastrophic to their gameplay. Other house guests could view a showmance as a newfound alliance, believing Taylor and Monte will look out for each other over other members. Big Brother alum Janelle Pierzina has called season 24 one of the best modern Big Brother seasons, and with Taylor and Monte changing the game once again, it’s clear she is correct.
