New fan art shows what Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz would look like as The CW's Batwoman. Fans were thrown for a loop yesterday when Ruby Rose announced she's leaving Batwoman ahead of season 2, only days after the first season of the show came to an end. Rose had been cast in the role of Kate Kane, the Arrowverse's Batwoman, back in 2018 ahead of that year's Elseworlds crossover. Her solo show began its first season last fall, further establishing her place in the Arrowverse along with her involvement in the massive Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.

Rose's exit came as a shock to fans, who immediately began to speculate about why exactly she chose to leave. While her statement didn't give any specific details, some wondered if her on-set injury from last season could have been a contributing factor. At the same time, The CW is now focusing their attention on recasting Batwoman for season 2. Since news broke just yesterday, no names have been officially tossed around. However, that hasn't stopped Beatriz from throwing her own name into the ring on social media.

Following Beatriz's interest in the role, graphic artist BossLogic got to work immediately in creating an image that would show how Beatriz would look as Batwoman. It's safe to say that she would look pretty good under the cowl. You can see the art for yourself down below.

This isn't the first time Beatriz, who is best known for playing Rosa Diaz on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has shown an interest in playing a comic book superhero. Last year, she was open about her desire to play She-Hulk for Marvel's upcoming Disney+ show of the same name, and fans seemed to approve of the idea. However, Beatriz later said she would be unable to take on the role because of her commitment to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which will return for an eighth season next year.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine-related conflicts aside, Beatriz would be a solid choice for Batwoman. The CW has already stated they intend to find another LGBT actress for the part, and Beatriz is bisexual. Additionally, her time on Brooklyn Nine-Nine shows she can play a fierce character while still nailing the deeper emotional moments. Sadly, however, if Beatriz isn't available to play She-Hulk, she likely won't be available to play Batwoman. Still, it's fun to imagine, and she certainly seems open to the opportunity if it's somehow possible. Until The CW officially announces Rose's replacement, anything can happen.
