New images for the Batwoman season 2 finale give another look at the Arrowverse’s Batwing costume, Black Mask, and more. Despite positive reviews and a great cast throughout its first two seasons, Batwoman has struggled somewhat to find consistent viewership. That’s largely due to the various narrative shake-ups Batwoman has faced, which included the replacement of season 1 lead Ruby Rose with Javicia Leslie and the subsequent recasting of the Kate Kane character with Wallis Day.

Despite ratings woes, the series has continued to deliver fresh Gotham stories with a diverse cast of compelling characters, which season 2 has built out in exciting new ways. The finale will bring several different plotlines together for a major climax, shifting the power dynamic in Gotham and bringing a new hero to the streets. The Batwoman season 2 finale, “Power,” airs on The CW on June 27.

A new series of images from the Batwoman season 2 finale, shared by The CW (via CBR), reveals new looks at Luke Fox’s Batwing Suit, as well as glimpses at Black Mask’s climactic assault on Gotham. Fox’s ascendance as Batwing has been one of the most highly anticipated storylines in the show for some time, and his costume looks great in the new photos. It should be exciting to see Batwing take to the streets with Ryan Wilder and the rest of the crew when the Batwoman season 2 finale airs on June 27. Check out the images below.

“Power” will mark Batwing’s first live-action appearance, increasing the excitement surrounding his debut. The suit has a very cyberized look to it, more akin to a sci-fi armored exo-suit than the leather and spandex look of many comic book heroes. The comics version of Batwing gets his name from the wings he uses to soar over Gotham, which haven’t been shown yet on the Batwoman version of the suit. Hopefully, viewers will be able to see Batwing take flight in the season 2 finale.

According to the official synopsis for “Power,” Batwoman will need all the help she can get to battle back against the chaos wreaked by Black Mask. Season 2 has been full of twists and double-crosses, and that trend will likely continue into the final episode. With major confrontations coming and new superheroes on the way, the series is setting up a lot of interesting potential for the future. Luckily, the Batwoman season 2 finale is far from the end of the show, with season 3 set to premiere on October 13, 2021.
