Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman are moving to new time slots on Wednesday night, starting on October 13, 2021. The two Arrowverse series, which previously aired on Sunday evenings in the United States, will be the first of the Arrowverse series to start their new seasons this fall. This marks the first time that the two shows have aired on Wednesday evening, although it is something of a homecoming for the Arrowverse as a whole, given that flagship series Arrow originally aired on Wednesdays for its first five seasons.

Batwoman has been a Sunday night staple of the CW schedule since its premiere in 2019, although it did move to the later 9 PM time slot a little over halfway through Batwoman season 2, after starting out in the 8 PM time slot. By contrast, Legends of Tomorrow has traveled around the CW broadcast schedule with a randomness worthy of the Legends themselves and twice changed their broadcast night in the middle of the season. Thankfully, Legends of Tomorrow season 6 managed to hold its Sunday night at 8 PM time slot through the summer of 2021, coming to a close almost one month before the Legends of Tomorrow season 7 premiere.

Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will air on Wednesday nights at 8 PM. Batwoman season 3 will air one hour later at 9 PM. Both series' will start on October 13, 2021. The new episodes will be available for streaming on the CW app and CW website on the Thursdays following their broadcast premiere.

Both Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman are promising big changes to go along with their new night. In the case of Legends of Tomorrow season 7, the Legends will be spending some time in the same time period, with the Waverider having been blown up in the season 6 finale. The season 7 premiere, "The Bullet Blondes," will see the Legends trying to survive in Odessa, Texas in 1925 with newlywed team captains Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Ava Sharpe (Jess Macallan) becoming bank robbers in order to provide a distraction from their team's activities.

Batwoman season 3 promises a more traditional superhero experience, with an all-star line-up of classic Batman villains making appearances. This will start with the season premiere "Mad As A Hatter," which as the title suggests will introduce Liam Crandle (Amitai Marmorstein) as a new Mad Hatter trying to fill the shoes (and hat) of the original, Jervis Tetch. Later episode will feature villains like Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Professsor Pyg and Poison Ivy, played by Bridget Regan.

Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will continue to run into Spring 2022, despite only having a 13 episode order. Batwoman season 3 is expected to run at least as long, though the size of its season has yet to be officially announced. In any case, it seems that the Arrowverse series are both returning with a newfound energy to go with their new night.
