The Arrowverse's big crossover event is quickly approaching, and The CW has finally released the first footage of Batwoman. The crossover is going by the title Elseworlds, implying that the event might take place outside of the main Arrowverse universe. The three-night Elseworlds event will span across the three main CW shows ArrowThe Flash, and Supergirl.

It was announced back in July that Batwoman was getting her own show, and the following month, actress Ruby Rose was cast as Kate Kane. Not a lot of information has been released surrounding the Batwoman spinoff show, with The CW's focus rightfully being on the Elseworlds crossover. Elseworlds will not only stand as the annual crossover event for the Arrowverse, but it will also introduce viewers to Rose as Batwoman and lead into her spinoff show. Fans have seen first look images of Batwoman, and got an easter egg of the character in The Flash season 5 premiere, but now the first footage of her has been released.

The fourth teaser for the Elseworlds crossover was released today by The CW (via TV Promos), and has given fans their first look at Rose in action. The teaser starts off with Batwoman standing atop a building with a man narrating, "You don't believe in Batman?". The promo continues with the tagline "Destiny Will Be Rewrittenand ends with Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) saying "That's not Batman" upon seeing The Caped Crusader's feminine counterpart. Check out the teaser below.

Even though Batman won't be appearing in the crossover event, his absence from the Arrowverse will still be explained. Aside from the regular Arrowverse cast members and the introduction of Rose's Batwoman, Tyler Hoechlin will return as Superman, alongside the introduction of Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. Also, Cassandra Jean Amell will play Nora Fries, and Jeremy Davies has been cast as Dr. John Deegan - the most likely candidate for the crossover's main villain.

Even though fans have stressed their disappointment with the Arrowverse not introducing Batman, introducing the Dark Knight and Batwoman in the same crossover event would take away from Batwoman's future spinoff. Casting Rose has also caused quite a controversy, but hopefully this new footage will lay to rest some of the concerns people have with the casting choice. After all, her look doesn't stray too far from the comic books, and this is the most straightforward acknowledgment of Batman in the Arrowverse yet.
