According to a reputable leaker, two Battlefield 6 screenshots have leaked online which give fans an idea of what to expect from the highly-anticipated shooter. Not only does the rumored near-future setting seem to be growing more and more likely, but the game will also apparently feature significant weather effects like tornadoes. The game has yet to be officially revealed, but is expected any day now.

Battlefield 6 is slowly ramping up its marketing, preparing for a big reveal in the coming weeks. An alpha has been confirmed for sometime in the near future as well. EA is still remaining tight-lipped on the details of gameplay in Battlefield 6, only offering up vague descriptors like massive all-out warfare. Nonetheless, there's plenty of leaks and rumors out there that give insight into the game, and the latest one may be the most significant to date.

Two screenshots from Battlefield 6 randomly surfaced online via Reddit and although at first glance, it could be an easy fake, reputable leaker Tom Henderson noted that they're supposedly the real deal. As always, this should still be taken with a grain of salt, but the most notable takeaway from this leak, if it's true, is the inclusion of a tornado. Battlefield 6 is expected to have enhanced levolution, and adding a tornado to rip up buildings and serve as an obstacle for players would certainly be a great way to shake-up matches.

The screenshots are relatively low-resolution and lack polish, possibly indicating that this is a work-in-progress build that may have been captured via a Zoom call, further compressing the image. There's still no way to say whether or not the images are 100% authentic, but it's undeniably a lot of work to put in for fakes. If real, the idea of pilots having to fight against being pulled in by a tornado, cars being whipped around, or even buildings being torn apart is incredibly fun to think about.

The second screenshot leans heavier into the rumored near-future setting for Battlefield 6 due to the vehicles flying over the map. It's unclear how much of a contrast this setting will be to something like Battlefield 4, which was set in 2020, about 8 years after the release of the game. Battlefield 6 is expected to take place around 2030, so the gap isn't much bigger. It'll be interesting to see how far DICE goes with the new technology and whether or not fans will embrace it after crossing their fingers for another modern day entry.
