Starting today, Amazon Prime will offer Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V for free for subscribers through Prime Gaming. Prime Gaming is an included component of a subscription to Amazon Prime. It gives subscribers a free subscription to use on Twitch, exclusive in-game content, free games to download, and other Twitch benefits. This is not the company's only foray into the video game industry; Amazon is also launching a closed beta for its upcoming MMO New World.

Prime members can claim the Standard editions of Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V on PC through Origin, EA's digital distribution platform, starting today for Battlefield 1 and tomorrow for Battlefield V. This confirms previous suggestions from a leaker last week. Players will need to go to gaming.amazon.com, select Games with Prime and click claim. The games will be free for players to keep forever once claimed, regardless of whether they keep a Prime subscription or not. New games are added every month, but they are only available for a limited time. Battlefield 1 will only be available to claim until August 4.

While there is currently no available end date for Battlefield V to be claimed, the company may follow the same two-week period to claim as it is with Battlefield 1. This is a great opportunity for gamers to familiarize themselves with the series before Battlefield 2042 releases this fall, especially since it will have a mechanical connection to Battlefield V. Other games that are available with Prime Gaming right now include The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature, Automachef and Batman: The Enemy Within.
