When it comes to superheroes' villains, Batman has the most exciting, theatrical, and interesting of them all. But the caped crusader's gallery of rogues is actually most threatening too, which is the edge the movie franchise has over the likes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Because of how eccentric and unique all of the antagonists are, it'd make for one of the best battle royales if they competed in a Hunger Games-style arena. Nothing would be more fun than seeing Mr. Freeze face off against the Joker. However, the upcoming reboot, The Batman, may change everything, as there's such a vast number of villains in the movie who have all been overhauled. But until then, it's still fun to speculate how these Batman movie villains would fair in the Hunger Games.

Riddler (From Batman Forever)

When it comes to the movies, there isn't a single villain whose weaker or more unnecessary than the Riddler. He has no combat skills, and despite being a genius in the comic books, Batman Forever's Riddler isn't much smarter than Batman & Robin's Bane.

Though some great Batman Forever deleted scenes see the Riddler as a more worthy rogue than in the final cut, when it comes to the Hunger Games, the Riddler wouldn't last two minutes. Hitting people with his cane will only get him so far. However, that might all change come 2022. The Batman's antagonist is a new version of the Riddler, and though fans don't know too much about the film yet, it looks like the villain is out to completely ruin Batman's life.

Penguin (From Batman Returns)

Penguin selects an umbrella in his sewer lair in Batman Returns.

In close range, Penguin could stand a fighting chance. He might be short and slow-moving, but he has a penchant for biting noses off and he can get even more vicious. Outside of that, the antagonist's performance in the arena would completely depend on which umbrella he brings with him.

The umbrellas all have built-in weaponry such as machine guns, swords, and explosives. But even so, the character wouldn't get very far with even his best artillery. However, once again, if this was the Penguin that fans have seen in the trailer for The Batman, where the villain has been portrayed as more of a manipulative mob boss, it might be a completely different story.

Two-face (From Batman Forever)

Two-Face orders his goons to kill Batman in Batman Forever

One thing is for sure no matter what viewers think of Batman Forever overall, Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones's performances as the film's antagonists were highly entertaining. But all in all, when it comes to how much of a threat they are, Batman Forever didn't have a strong roster of villains.

However, Two-Face has one up on Riddler not because he outlasted him in the movie, but because of how much ferocity he has and how passionate he is to achieve his goals. Even in the camp movie, Two-Face still comes across as fairly intimidating, and it's doubtful that some opponents would want to cross him in the arena.

Mr. Freeze (From Batman & Robin)

Mr. Freeze shoots his Cold Gun in Batman & Robin

What's funny about Arnold Schwarzenegger's portrayal of Mr. Freeze is that he's the same size as Bane in Batman & Robin, meaning that the villain could probably do as much damage with his sheer brawn. Unfortunately, the character's strength is never really put to the test, as he gets his ice-skating crew to do his bidding for him.

But what Freeze does have is his ice gun, simply called the 'cold gun,' and that alone beats other villains' weapons. Between that and the sheer size of him, Freeze could do pretty well in the Hunger Games. However, two major drawbacks would end his time in the arena early. First of all, in that bulky suit, Freeze is simply too easy to tip over, and when he's down, there's no getting back up. And secondly, if the terrain of the arena isn't ice-cold, he simply wouldn't survive.

Catwoman (From Batman Returns)

Catwoman in Batman Returns has some great feline agility, and that could be used to her advantage in the Hunger Games arena. So few of Batman's rogues are agile and limber, and not many other villains could match her fighting style either, as she combines Joe Rogan-powerful kicks with somersaults, along with some fierce scratches too.

Catwoman can cover all bases, as she has most of the advantage on the ground and at great heights. But, with the impending release of Batman, Matt Reeves' depiction of the character is shaping up to be much more menacing than fans have ever seen.

Two-Face (From The Dark Knight)

There are tons of ways Two-Face changed from the comic, such as the fact that he's an actual criminal in the comics. But even though Harvey Dent was the savior of Gotham in The Dark Knight, he was still capable of terrible things by the end of the movie.

Just like the Two-Face in Batman Forever, the one in Christopher Nolan's epic is just as passionate, but he's willing to go to more extreme lengths to get what he wants. And given that he seems to be on a suicide mission from the very moment he steps out of the hospital, nobody wants to take on a man who isn't afraid of death.

Poison Ivy (From Batman & Robin)

Though Poison Ivy doesn't seem like she'd do all that well on paper, as she gets Bane to do her dirty work, there's actually a lot that goes in her favor. If the Hunger Games arena had jungle terrain, Ivy could manipulate the environment to her advantage, turning every plant into a sentient people-eater like Seymour from The Little Shop of Horrors.

Unless any of the villains have Robin's trusty rubber lips, Poison Ivy could just walk around planting poisonous kisses on everybody. The only villain it wouldn't work on for sure is Mr. Freeze. On top of that, in the 1997 movie, Poison Ivy was actually a powerful female villain, unlike Catwoman who ended up being a damsel in distress, which is one of the ways Batman & Robin is underrated.

Joker (From The Dark Knight)

The Joker in any format is generally psychotic and goes from one madcap plan to the next without thinking. The Joker in The Dark Knight put it best by saying that "I'm like a dog chasing cars, I wouldn't know what to do when I caught one." However, that isn't completely true when it comes to Heath Ledger's depiction of the villain.

Ledger's Joker is one of the cleverest characters in the series. His plotting and intentionally getting arrested is the plan of an evil genius. That means that the number of clever traps laid by Joker in the arena could trick most of his opponents. And with a jacket lined with explosives and his nifty pencil trick, The Dark Knight's Joker could even give the physically strongest villains a run for their money.

Ra's Al Ghul (From Batman Begins)

One thing opponents need to do to get ahead in the Hunger Games arena is to be aware of their surroundings, and nobody knows how to do that better than Ra's Al Ghul. Even without the League of Shadows, an entire army of ninjas who are usually by his side, Ra's is the very man who trained Batman and almost left him for dead.

Ra's Al Ghul's death is one of the times Batman definitely killed in the movies, but it took the entire destruction of Gotham and the burning down of Wayne Manor to stop him. Few other villains have the intelligence and strength of Ra's, and none of the other villains' novelty weapons would stop the Batman Begins antagonist.

Bane (From The Dark Knight Rises)

Just like Ra's, Bane was raised in the League of Shadows, giving him the upper hand against anybody when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. In The Dark Knight Rises, he broke Batman's back, and even in round two, Bane would have won if it wasn't for his mask.

The DKR Bane combines all of the previous villains' best qualities, as he has the expert plotting of the Joker, the combat of Ra's Al Ghul, and the passion of Two-Face. On top of that, he's convincing and can persuade almost anybody to do whatever he wants, which would no doubt help him in the arena.
