Gotham star Shane West says he would love to play another Batman villain in Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Gotham follows Detective James Gordon as he rises within the ranks of the GCPD, while Bruce Wayne is still a young teen. West played Bane in Gotham season 5, bringing a unique interpretation of the iconic character, something at which the series excelled in doing. While Gotham gave Bane new elements to his backstory and a distinct look, West was still able to capture the menacing nature of the infamous Batman villain, even if he didn't quite have Bane's imposing stature.

Batman is currently at the forefront of audiences' minds, with The Batman dominating the box office, with more to come from its universe already in the works. While a sequel to The Batman is likely on the way, other iterations of the character, namely Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck's interpretations, are already slated to appear in Batgirl and The Flash, respectively. In addition, The Batman is getting a Penguin spinoff series, with two others (a GCPD-centered series and an Arkham-centered series) currently on hold. However, with all the forthcoming Batman content, there is plenty of room for more villains to enter the mix.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant for his new film Outsiders, West was asked about other Batman characters he would be interested in playing. West responded by saying, "Harvey Dent would be something fun to play." He explained that, besides Batman, villain roles are the ideal alternative choice. West also teased there are plenty of other Batman characters he would love to play, though he didn't elaborate with specifics. See West's full comments below:

"So yeah, there's plenty of characters. Harvey Dent would be something fun to play. It'd be fun to play a Two-Face. Certain things, you might slide into the character a little easier. But if you're not playing Batman, which, sure a lot of people would love to play, playing the villains, man, that's the way to go. There's plenty I would love to give a try with."

Harvey Dent/Two-Face is a long-standing Batman villain who was first introduced in 1942. Outside of the comics, the character was featured in the 1960s show Batman: The Animated Series, and Gotham. Dent has also appeared in several films, with Billy Dee Williams playing a pre-villainous Dent in Tim Burton's Batman movies, before the character was taken on by Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever, and later Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight. With Two-Face being a popular villain and numerous Batman projects on the horizon, West may have an opportunity to vie for the role in the near future.

West has several projects in the works, like the thrillers Escape the Field and Mid-Century. His new film, Outsiders, about a young Black man who is a suspect in his girlfriend's disappearance, is currently in theaters and available via VOD and Digital. However, whether or not the Gotham star will get the chance to play Harvey Dent/Two-Face remains to be seen, but perhaps future details about the likely The Batman 2 will open up a slot.
