Though the film won't release for another year, we've recently seen a steady influx of new material from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. There was, of course, it's first teaser trailer that divided the internet when it leaked and then again when Warner Bros. preempted its IMAX debut by officially releasing it online. (Something that's sadly become a pattern of late.)

The teaser was then followed by some stylish teaser posters, a display revealing the Trinity's costumes without Zack Snyder's signature desaturation, a leaked full color image of Ben Affleck in the Batsuit (which has since been pulled), as well as video featuring the Batmobile and another leaked image of the Batwing. With so much material releasing this early in the game, Warner Bros. has either lost the ability to keep anything under wraps or are launching the most advanced promotional push for a film ever.

Regardless of whether or not WB is secretly orchestrating all these leaks, today sees something new from Batman V Superman revealed. New promotional art featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman has made its way online. The artwork is the sort you'll see plastered on a million pieces of tie-in merchandise, but the images do offer yet another look at each characters' costume.

The Batman and Superman promo art (via Flickering Myth) doesn't necessarily show anything new, though there is a nicely detailed image of Batman's armored suit. However, the artwork of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman (below, courtesy of El Mayimbe) does include an additional accessory for the Amazon Princess' getup:

The first and only image we've seen of Gal Gadot in costume features an outfit identical to what's pictured above - except for the cape. In the comics, Wonder Woman will occasionally don a cape, especially when she's acting as a dignitary from Themyscira, and famously Linda Carter's Wonder Woman had a bright red, white and blue cape.

This cape features a blue and gold color scheme and appears to have more structure to it than if it were simply cloth. Then again, that might just be the art style used in this image. In another piece of promotional art (via Flickering Myth), the cape has a more flowing, almost feathered look.

So why does Wonder Woman have a cape in the Batman V Superman promo artwork but not in her official debut image? Honestly, the reasons could vary from the cape being a late edition or it could be that the cape will only feature briefly in the film. The cape could have even been originally planned but then later dropped, as there's no reason to assume the promo art came after Gadot's final costume was decided on. Perhaps Snyder felt three heroes with capes flapping the wind was just one too many?

We're still not entirely sure how large Wonder Woman's role will be in Batman V Superman or for what reason she appears, but if the cape is indeed part of her look, it will definitely add to her dramatic presence.

What do you think of adding a cape to Wonder Woman's costume? If it does actually appear on film, do you expect it only for a scene or two? Sound off in the comments below!
