Batman v Superman Rewatch: Minute 45 'Wake Up, Bruce'

Batman v Superman By The Minute Podcast

As the most controversial comic book movie in history, the debates over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice rage on even years later. The online discussion divided audiences into either loving or hating Zack Snyder's take on DC's heroes, instead of discussing it as fans--a problem the Batman v Superman: By The Minute Podcast hopes to change.

The questions posed by the movie itself--What does "the American Way" mean today? When does a hero become a villain? How would Earth react to the events of Man of Steel?--went unexplored. Even if the film's detractors despise the answers Snyder offers to these questions, shouldn't superhero fans decide for themselves if they're worth asking? Two Screen Rant Editors have set out to discover the truth, rewatching the movie one minute at a time.

Batman v Superman Rewatch Podcast 45

Welcome to Batman v Superman: By The Minute, a podcast devoted to rewatching, discussing, and deconstructing Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, one minute at a time.

In Minute 45: "Wake Up, Bruce" having already established Superman as the angel in this battle of good and evil, it's time for Bruce Wayne to meet the devil. After struggling to understand the meaning of a large, demonic bat desecrating the memory of Martha Wayne and consuming Bruce completely, the nightmare is over. Which means it's time for Bruce to return to using faceless women, alcohol, and prescription pills to keep his mission on the rails. While also placing a Robert Mapplethorpe print on his bedroom wall to explain the rest. But what good is it living in a glass house... if there's simply nothing there to see? Alfred Pennyworth can't get here soon enough.
