Batman V Superman LexCorp NYCC Clip; New Desert Batman Details

At the time of writing this, New York Comic-Con 2015 has officially started. While there's sure to be plenty of big comic book and TV announcements over the next few days, it's not clear how much noteworthy news about movies will come out of the convention. Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice - one of the most talked about film to open in 2016 - isn't on the schedule, but the Warner Bros. and DC comic book movie has taken steps to make sure its presence is felt at the convention.

Unsurprisingly, DC will have various BvS costumes - Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman's armor - on display. This has been done at other conventions and events, so it's nothing out of the ordinary. However, BvS' viral marketing campaign is taking steps to make sure everyone is talking about the film, and they're doing that by having LexCorp - Lex Luthor's company - provide NYCC attendees with free Wi-Fi. This announcement was made the other day, but now a video has been released which further sells the illusion that Superman's iconic enemy is providing everyone at NYCC with free internet access. You can check out the video above.

According to the video, this year's free Wi-Fi will be provided by LexCorp's brand new operating system: Lex/OS. Claiming to be "the world's most private and secure operating system; engineered with the protection you need and the freedom you want." This, of course, feels true to this new incarnation of the classic villain who's now focused on making his company more tech savvy. Free Wi-Fi at massive comic conventions tends to fluctuate in speed - which can often be frustrating to many - so only time will reveal whether or not steps have been taken to make "LexCorp's" free Wi-Fi operate relatively smoothly, or if it'll remain the same as before and simply be used as a tactic used to get people talking about BvS.

The video also alleges that the LexCorp booth - which is SC02 - is giving away free portable chargers. Even if the internet doesn't run smoothly, free charging devices is sure to benefit many people at the packed convention - assuming supplies aren't very limited, of course. Would you really trust something Lex gave you for free, though?

The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Batman V Superman trailer had several standout moments. From Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in action to revealing more of Batman's (Ben Affleck) story, the trailer gave fans a lot to talk about. One scene in particular generated a lot of speculation: "desert Batman". What is the Dark Knight attempting to accomplish in the scene? Did he really kill a soldier by snapping their neck?

One common theory is the footage is taken from a nightmare sequence - and now has a picture taken at the Mattel booth which gives that theory more weight:

"Knightmare Batman" strongly hints at the possibility of "desert Batman" being used for a nightmare sequence, likely one that Bruce Wayne is having. Given his concerns about Superman having the power to take over the world, it makes sense this fear would spill into his dreams - Batman is certainly known for obsessing over his objectives. The fact he's fighting soldiers who are wearing Superman's logo (and the trailer makes in seem like those soldiers just murdered innocent people) suggests this could be a nightmare in which Superman rules with an iron fist and the soldiers all follow his command, crushing anyone who dares to defy the Man of Steel.

If true, this nightmare would likely incorporate the scene of soldiers kneeling to Superman, too. Could Superman be on his way to visit an incarcerated Batman during that sequence? The Caped Crusader was being overwhelmed by the "Superman soldiers" - or "Sons of Superman", which would be a nod to the "Sons of Batman" in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns - in that footage, after all...
