Jesse Eisenberg is currently gearing up for production on Now You See Me: The Second Act, a sequel to a 2013 box office hit that will be arriving in theaters in 2016. Of course, the Oscar nominee is going to appear in a different project that fits that profile; one that will most likely generate more attention within the moviegoing public, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder's much-anticipated follow-up to Man of Steel.

The man who played Mark Zuckerberg will be brining another complex billionaire to life in the superhero crossover, that of Lex Luthor. Like most of the casting decisions for Dawn of Justice, the announcement of Eisenberg's involvement was met with a healthy dose of Internet fervor (even though he could pull it off), and people haven't been anxious just to see how Eisenberg's acting chops fit the character. They're interested in seeing the physical resemblance as well.

Yes, the question of whether or not Eisenberg's Luthor will be bald like he is in the comic pages has been a topic up for debate seemingly since the actor first came on board. During filming, leaked set images showed Eisenberg wearing something over his head, which led some to believe that he was hiding a shiny chrome dome from the public eye - even though "Lex Luthor is bald!" is hardly a spoiler in a Superman movie.

The reason we bring this up again is because Fandango unveiled the first cast photo for Now You See Me 2, which showcases Eisenberg with his co-stars - and as you can see below, his usually curly locks have been replaced by something resembling a close buzz cut:

The state of Eisenberg's hair in the photo has caused many to speculate about the appearance of Batman V Superman's Luthor once again. Principal photography on the film wrapped up recently and it certainly looks as if Eisenberg had his head shaved not too long ago. Either that or his character just so happens to require a crew cut months after the actor finished playing Lex Luthor.

As we've said before, it doesn't really matter if Eisenberg's Luthor is a complete replication of the character, looks-wise. The bigger issue is going to be whether or not his performance will stay true to the spirit of the villain - and based on Eisenberg's previous work, right now we're giving him the benefit of the doubt. His enthusiasm over the project's script fuels that belief, as it teases the kind of Luthor we'll see on-screen in 2016.

But, for those concerned about such things, it definitely appears as if the actor will be sporting a bald head for at least a portion of the movie. After all, Luthor did have hair at one point in the comics, so if Snyder chooses to show Eisenberg with a full mane for certain scenes, it wouldn't be completely against the source material. Either way, Luthor's classic look will in all likelihood be displayed.

Hopefully we'll be able to put this subject to rest very soon. The first teaser for Batman V Superman is rumored to be attached to Jupiter Ascending, which comes out in February. Regardless of earlier rumors suggesting that the preview will be "Batman heavy," we'd have to guess that there will be at least a shot or two of the new Luthor for us all to dissect.
