Batman: Arkham Knight, the final game in developer Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy, launched in June to largely positive reviews. It told the story of Bruce Wayne's final night as the Batman, facing off against Scarecrow and newcomer Arkham Knight in an attempt to save Gotham City and the rest of the world.
Arkham Knight boasts a lengthy campaign, as well as a number of side missions and challenges to keep players firmly entrenched in Gotham. For those who have conquered the predator maps and Batmobile tracks, the game launched with a season pass that has added regular content to the game. From the 1989 classic Batmobile skin to the story campaign Batgirl: A Matter of Family, the DLC has largely been fan service - enriching the game by capitalizing on the character's long history.
WB Games, the publisher of Arkham Knight, released a full list of all the remaining DLC yet to be released for the game. The full list is available here, but we've broken down the most interesting pieces of content yet to come.
The biggest (and least surprising) news is that Batman: Arkham Knight will be getting Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice DLC next month. This pack includes not only the costume that Ben Affleck will be donning next spring, but a new skin for the Batmobile as well. The changes are entirely cosmetic - the pack does not include themed tracks as the previous packs have done.
Additionally, two new Arkham Episodes have been revealed, starring Catwoman and Robin. The episodes put players in control of the supporting cast of Batman: Arkham Knight and takes them through a short mission. The missions typically include predator challenges as well as combat encounters, ending with a final boss fight. These will join the previously-released Harley Quinn and Red Hood stories.
Finally, in December the "Season of Infamy" begins. This update will see the release of a Most Wanted expansion, introducing Killer Croc, Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, and Ra's al Ghul to the world of Arkham Knight. Similar to the Most Wanted missions that launched with the game, each will feature multiple encounters with the villains in an attempt to apprehend them and take them to the GCPD building.
While it will be cool to see the Batman V Superman skin in action months ahead of the film's release, the Arkham Episodes are probably the most exciting announcement from the list. The episodes take place after the ending of Batman: Arkham Knight, giving some context to the bewildering true ending of the game. The Robin story in particular should be enlightening, as WB indicated the story will deal with Batman's disappearance as the now solo Tim Drake hunts down Two-Face.
