While Wonder Woman and Batman have fought alongside one another to save the DC Universe and beyond on numerous occasions, the Amazonian hero once admitted she could never fully trust her fellow hero. In the JLA: Tower of Babel storyline from DC Comics, Wonder Woman revealed that after finding out Batman developed secret contingency plans about defeating each member of the Justice League by exploiting their greatest weaknesses, her trust for The Dark Knight would never be the same.

Batman is no stranger to making his fellow heroes, Wonder Woman included, question his true motives, as the longtime Justice Leaguer often operates in his own world, as his cold, analytic nature has often rubbed his teammates the wrong way. However, Batman pissed off the Justice League like never before in the JLA: Tower of Babel comic, where The Dark Knight's contingency plans about stopping the Justice League were revealed to the superteam. One hero who couldn't move past the revelation was Wonder Woman, who admitted it severely fractured her trust in her longtime ally.

In JLA: Tower of Babel by Mark Waid, Howard Porter, Drew Geraci, Ken Lopez, and Pat Garrahy from DC Comics, the Justice League deal with Ra's Al Ghul, as the Batman villain exposes The Dark Knight's contingency plans to stop his fellow heroes if needed. The reveal ends up causing considerable friction among the Justice League, as after their mission is complete, they decide whether Batman should be voted out of the Justice League. Aquaman and Martian Manhunter each vote "yes" and "no," respectively, while Wonder Woman admits she can never trust Batman again the same while making her decision.

Wonder Woman's Trust In Batman Greatly Diminished That Day

Wonder Woman Can't Trust Batman Reason

While Wonder Woman continues to fight alongside Batman to this day, her trust in the Justice League hero became damaged after the revelation he had plans to exploit each team member's greatest weaknesses in case he needed to. Wonder Woman stated she couldn't go into battle with someone she does not trust. Diana took more issue with Batman keeping them secret from them, saying he could have mentioned it without detailing his plans. Her confidence and trust from that point forward in Batman were broken.

Thankfully, Wonder Woman is a pro's pro when it comes to being a hero and hasn't let her distrust of Batman get in the way of the Justice League protecting the world. However, thanks to his secret contingency plans, Diana will always think twice before fully putting her trust in Batman and hasn't forgotten about the betrayal. Yes, Wonder Woman has tried to move on from the incident, but given the level of Batman breaking the Justice League's trust, she'll likely never forget the incident.
