The Teen Titans are one of DC's most popular hero teams and now, the classic line-up has returned in a cover for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #7. Dan Mora's cover reunites the iconic heroes and throws back to their early days. The roster has changed over the years, but the team is as super as ever.Having debuted in 1964, the original Teen Titans team was formed by Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad. Wonder Girl and Speedy were added early on and the team has had numerous other members over its nearly sixty-year history. Over the years, their mantles have also passed down to other characters, like Tim Drake becoming Robin, Cassie Sandsmark sharing the Wonder Girl mantle, and Jackson Hyde becoming Aqualad. However, the team wouldn't exist without the original sidekick's heroism and popularity.Related: Red Hood Webtoon Team Promise Swashbuckling Romance for DC's Bad Boy (Exclusive Interview)On Twitter, comic artist Dan Mora shared the variant cover art for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #7. This upcoming issue has the creative team of Mark Waid, Dan Mora, and Marie Javins. Variant covers for the issue have been done by Dan Mora, Pete Woods, Todd Nauck, and Joshua Middleton. The issue will focus on "the untold story of Superman's short-lived sidekick," and will be the debut of Boy Thunder. However, the original Teen Titans are coming back on Mora's cover, showing off how great DC's sidekicks have been.

On this cover, Robin takes center stage, flanked by Wally West and Donna Troy. Above them, Roy Harper - who has undergone several name changes (Speedy, Arsenal) - stands ready for action. In the background is Garth, the original Aqualad who doesn't often appear in his original Teen Titans look. As of late he is more frequently depicted in his post-sidekick days, as Tempest (debuting in 1996), instead of in his classic red suit with blue gloves. Thus far, in present continuity, the Titans have been teaching at Titans Academy and have been involved in the ongoing Dark Crisis event. The legacy of these sidekicks is ongoing as they continuously jump into fighting whatever new threats arise in DC's universe.

With so many roster changes over the years and new sidekicks and heroes taking the former roles of the Titans, it's rather impressive that the team has continued to have its longevity. This adds a layer of legacy to the Titans, as new heroes fill the roles left empty - like Emiko Queen taking over as Speedy, Jackson taking over as Aqualad, and Tim Drake's previous role as Robin that was later filled by Damian Wayne on the team. Wallace West takes over as Kid Flash while Jon Kent has been Superboy before he became Superman. Legacy heroes are typically the characters who are related to other heroes, but the Teen Titans have managed to create their own legacy delineation that keeps their team going by incorporating those descendants and having other heroes with similar powers and sidekick roles. The Teen Titans may not have the same roster and the Titans may be paving their own way as older heroes, but fans can collect the latest cover featuring DC's iconic team when Superman/Batman: World's Finest #7 releases September 20.
