Warning! Spoilers for DCeased: Dead Planet Below

In DC's DCeased universe, Damian Wayne has taken the role of Batman after his dad was killed by the infection on Earth. His first act upon dawning his father's costume as the Caped Crusader? Stealing Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet and taking it out for a spin - for good reason.

The DCeased universe was created by Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine and expanded into multiple spinoff titles that featured heroes and villains facing the after-effects of a zombie-esque apocalypse on Earth thanks to the spread of a corrupted version of the Anti-Life Equation. While DCeased: Dead Planet follows the universe five years after the initial attack forced the new Justice League to leave Earth, DCeased: Hope at World's End focuses on the new superteam finding their footing as Earth falls apart.

In a new preview for the digital-first series, DCeased Hope at World's End #5, DC's new Trinity tries to find their footing at the Fortress at Solitude. When Jon arrives back from his mission of taking down the Internet off the coast of Ireland to cease the spread of the virus, Cassie informs him that Damian has stolen Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet and taken it for a joyride. Jon isn't too pleased to find Damian sitting in the sky, telling him the problem with stealing the invisible vehicle is the fact he's still visible.

DCEASED Invisible Jet

In a heartbreaking twist, it turns out the new Batman was stealing the Invisible Jet in order to get to Gotham City. Believing his mother Talia al Ghul is still alive, Damian wanted to find her despite the army of undead people being a considerable obstacle. Just like his dad, Bruce tries to tell Cassie and Jon that he can do it all by himself, but both young heroes say they're heading with him.

Damian's always been a rebel, so stealing the Invisible Jet, even as the new Batman is extremely in character. But, it's great to see DC's newest Trinity has a similar relationship to the original trio. Cassie and Jon (like Diana and Clark before them) aren't going to let Damian head into zombie-infected Gotham without providing backup. Even if Damian thinks he can do it all alone, they're not going to let him face it by himself. It's a great moment that shows the young heroes have a special relationship and have each other's backs, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.
