And now, in a new cosplay team-up photo, The Dark Knight of Gotham City and the Friendly Neighborhood Superhero of Queens unite to stop criminals in their tracks!
Recently shared on Instagram by @foggyknight14 and @wens.1998 — Batman and Spider-Man, respectively — these accounts are all about uploading homemade designs of characters fans know and love while digitally enhancing their images in creative ways that make their already comic-accurate costumes look even better.
Dressing as Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Gambit, and more, @foggyknight14 is a cosplay veteran that always impresses with costume designs that pop, while @wens.1998 has perfected the art of cosplaying as Spider-Man, even embodying a few different versions of him like Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider, Doppelgänger Spider-Man, Black Suit Spider-Man, Captain Universe Spider-Man, and more!
Batman And Spider-Man Team-Up In Epic New Cosplay Image
Technically having met more than once in past Marvel x DC crossovers, Batman and Spider-Man are two of the most revered heroes in their respective universes but are practically polar opposites in every other way that counts. One a broody non-superpowered detective of incredible skill, and the other a wise-cracking spider-powered photographer of amazing ability, seeing Batman and Spider-Man get together in comics was an absolute treat for fans, with this cosplay photo making a case for why the Bat and the Spider need to cross paths once again.
Photographed by @ghost_shoots, @foggyknight14’s Batman and @wens.1998’s Spider-Man are crouched low atop a building right at the heart of Gotham City, meticulously scanning their surroundings for the latest criminal threat. Dressed in a comic-accurate batsuit, @foggyknight14 embodies the brooding nature of Batman perfectly, while @wens.1998 gives Spider-Man a more realistic and functioning look that fits in with Batman’s dark and more serious tone well. Captioning the photo with “Teaching the webhead how to brood,” it’s fun to think of Batman giving Spidey some pointers when it comes to the dark and gloomy side of things, which hopefully means that Batman is getting schooled in bad puns and one-liners by a Wallcrawler that’s always full of them.
What’s more, the lighting in the image can either be read as a sunrise or a sunset, quite possibly making this the photo that captures the exact moment Batman hands off his city to Spidey for the day or, conversely, Spider-Man giving the go-ahead for Bats to patrol the streets while he gets some much-needed shut-eye.
