When reading superhero comics, one of the last things readers worry about is how their favorite hero is going to use the bathroom while in costume. But, readers of Batman found out the Dark Knight once had to go and decided to pee in his Batsuit.

Kevin Smith is best known for directing films such as Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy, however, the filmmaker has also had a successful career writing comics. He's written stories and arcs on Green Arrow, Daredevil, and on his own properties, such as Bluntman and Chronic. Smith has also tackled Batman with Batman: Cacophony, and the unfinished Batman: The Widening Gyre. Smith's trademark humor can be seen throughout his comics, even in a title as serious as Batman. And in the latter arc, Smith revealed a younger Batman once pissed in his Batsuit.

Batman: The Widening Gyre (2009) was a six-issue series written by Smith, with art by Walt Flanagan, inks by Art Thibert, letters by Jared Fletcher and colors from Art Lyon. The full arc is considered somewhat incomplete, as it was originally intended to be 12-issues, however, the last six issues have never come out. But, it's still a great read as Batman teams up with a new hero called Baphomet and finds romance with Silver St. Cloud. During the series, Batman shares a moment about how being a hero isn't easy, revealing to Baphomet that during his first year in Gotham, he had a "bladder spasm," while going after one of the city's worst mobsters.

Batman Pisses Pants

Baphomet responds "No! You're saying you went your pants?!" to which Batman responds "my point is nobody starts off as an expert at this. You learn through trial and error." Baphomet jokes that he appreciates the story and that "I know I'm still wet behind the ears," and that he hopes he didn't "piss you off."

While it's easy to interpret the moment as needlessly gross, it's actually quite sweet. Batman wants the best for Baphomet and hopes he understands you can't become a hero overnight. Mistakes - such as peeing in his Batsuit - happen. While it's a great scene, unfortunately for Batman, Baphomet wasn't someone who could be trusted. So, not only did Batman admit that he peed in his Batsuit, he did so to one of his enemies. Oh well, such is life as the Caped Crusader.
