New photos from the set of The Batman reveals Bruce Wayne getting assaulted by a Gotham gang group. Production for Matt Reeves' standalone DC film for Warner Bros. is in full swing, with photos from filming making their way online and giving fans a peek at what can be expected from it. Starring Robert Pattinson as the titular character - replacing Ben Affleck after the actor exited the gig - the film boasts a star-studded cast of characters with Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.

Narrative details are still being tightly kept under wraps - including whether or not The Batman will exist in the established DCEU lore. The movie's working title, "Vengeance", has been tipped to be indicative of its story, but with very little official information revealed thus far, it's difficult to gauge what it can possibly mean. Nevertheless, set images have been fueling fan theories, including these latest ones which see Wayne entangled in a street fight.

Courtesy of The Daily Mail is a batch of brand new snaps from the set of The Batman. In it, Pattinson's stand-in gets assaulted by a group of goons sporting ominous face paint. At one point, Bruce drops down on the ground while the gang members continue to mob him, while another photo shows him unconscious on the ground. According to the report, Pattinson was not on the set during the time of filming.

The Batman set photos come out on the heels of Reeves debuting the public's first official look at Pattinson suited up as the Batman. Clocking it at only 56 seconds, the video's dark and moody aesthetic set to Michael Giacchino's music has had people comparing it to Daredevil. And as with high profile films, fans have been obsessing about its every detail in the hopes of picking up clues about its story. The short clip mirrors director Todd Phillips' reveal of Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck in the Joker. Meanwhile, Wright teased the project's version of the Bat Signal separately.

It's difficult to gauge what's exactly happening in the scene captured by these set photos considering that there's no context to them. But since Pattinson was not on the set during this whole debacle, it's possible that it won't play out long in The Batman. From the looks of it, Bruce isn't even trying to fight off his assaulters, so this could come before he starts his training. Or, he could just be refusing to fight back in order to keep from revealing who he really is. Perhaps this could even be a part of dream sequence or maybe a nightmare. Fans know that Bruce is almost always a tortured soul, so being haunted by these images makes sense.
