Current set photos from The Batman have been posted, showing the Batmobile in daylight. The Robert Pattinson-starring film is one of the most anticipated DC blockbusters coming up. During DC FanDome last weekend, the company debuted the first trailer for The Batman, which highlighted director Matt Reeves' gritty take on the classic hero.

The Batmobile is one of Batman's defining gadgets. Not many other comic book characters have a signature vehicle to their name. Much like Batman himself, the vehicle has changed appearances over the years. The colorful car in the 1966 Adam West show certainly fit the lighthearted program. However, the Tim Burton design in the 1989 film remains very popular for its distinctive look. The one used in The Dark Knight trilogy, the Tumbler, had an invaluable armored appearance. After all, no one has forgotten The Dark Knight scene where the Tumbler jumped in front of the Joker's bazooka. New versions of the Batmobile also appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Naturally, the iconic vehicle  will also play a role in The Batman. Reeves first revealed the new take on the Batmobile back in March. Now, it's been revealed what it looks like in daylight.

After production halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears preparation is underway for The Batman to resume filming. As shared by Daily Mail, set photos reveal the Batmobile in daylight. According to the article, the film crew was test-driving two Batmobile vehicles at Cardington Airfield in England. This makes sense, as The Batman is set to continue work in the U.K. next month.

Although fans were able to see the Batmobile in the official photos and trailer, it is certainly good to see it in daylight for the first time. Its sleek design fits The Batman's aesthetic well. The photos also give a great look at the vehicle's rocket engine. Based on the trailer, it's fair to expect the Batmobile's involvement in intense action scenes. Luckily, these images make it clear the vehicle will be up to the task.

In addition to the new Batmobile, it will be interesting to see what The Batman does with its take on Gotham City's cast of characters. The Riddler is already getting notable attention thanks to his menacing persona in the trailer. There's also Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman and Colin Farrell's Penguin. According to Reeves, the film serves as an origin story for the villains of Gotham City. It's still early, but The Batman already appears to be an interesting part of the character's long history.
