Little Caesars reveals their The Batman movie tie-in product that consists of the pizza chain's 2021 Crazy Calzony in a ridiculous new shape. Matt Reeves' latest take on the Dark Knight sees Robert Pattinson putting on the batsuit to fight against classic Batman villains, including The Penguin (Colin Farrell) and The Riddler (Paul Dano). The film will also feature other beloved characters from Gotham City, such as Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) and Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis).
Known for their Hot-N-Ready pizza, Little Caesars recently stirred up some controversy when the chain raised the normal $5 price point to $5.55 (an increase of 11%). Always looking to add experimental items to their menu, the fast-food pizza joint released their "freaky-looking" take on a classic calzone in August of 2021, which they dubbed the Crazy Calzony. The item basically encompassed a pepperoni pizza in the middle, flanked by four calzone sections on the sides. The calzone sections featured garlic white sauce, mozzarella cheese, julienned pepperoni, and parmesan cheese. While the item may have been a hit-or-miss thing for consumers, it seems Little Caesars is doubling down on the design of it.
Now, Little Caesars has unveiled the new The Batman calzony on their official website. The movie tie-in pizza/calzone hybrid, which is a slight tweak on their Crazy Calzony, features a large pepperoni 8-slice pizza in a ridiculous "bat-shape." The item is described as having a "Parmesan and butter-tasting, clazone-like crust," which is filled with "Garlic White Sauce, Cheese and Julienne Pepperoni." The item is now available to order for $7.99 (price may vary by location) and includes a cup of their famous Crazy Sauce. Check out the photos of the calzony and its to-go boxbelow:
Little Caesars is also hosting a brand new sweepstakes to go along with their The Batman movie-themed product. Featuring the headline, "Help The Batman Solve The Riddle for a Chance to Win," the pizza company's latest contest includes two grand prizes of a 4-day/3-night trip for two to attend the red carpet premiere of The Batman in February 2022. Four first prize winners will receive a hometown screening of the movie for up to fifty people and $450 in cash. To enter, simply buy The Batman calzony, scan the code, and enter the sweepstakes by March 13, 2022. Drawings for the prizes start in early February 2022.
While the shape of the actual product resembles more of a bird than a bat, it is still a fun idea for die-hard fans of the Batman franchise. The potential bonus of winning one of the sweepstakes prizes is just icing on the cake (or in this case, pie). Fans can look forward to scarfing down one of Little Caesars new calzonys and watching The Batman in theaters once the film releases on March 4.
