Here's a first look image from the forthcoming Batman: Hush animated movie, along with confirmation of the film's voice cast. Originally a 2002-2003 comic arc by renowned comic writer Jeph Loeb and artist Jim Lee, Batman: Hush is a widely-loved part of the Caped Crusader's canon and marked the debut of the story's titular villain: a mysterious bandage-covered sociopath determined to take down the Batman for reasons unknown. The arc features an array of popular characters, both allies and villains, and even includes the mighty Superman in a sizeable role.

Due to the arc's popularity, there has been strong interest throughout the years in bringing Hush to life in animated form and in 2016, reports began to emerge suggesting such a project was underway via teases from long-serving voice actors Kevin Conroy (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Mark Hamill (Joker). Two years later, a Batman: Hush animated movie was officially announced with a mid-2019 release date. Back in January, a reported cast list was revealed but surprisingly omitted Conroy and Hamill, instead featuring a few more surprising names.

IGN have now confirmed the cast list for Batman: Hush and have also released a first look image from the film. The cast is as follows: Jason O'Mara as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jennifer Morrison as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jerry O'Connell as Superman, Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson as Lex Luther, Sean Maher as Nightwing, Bruce Thomas as Jim Gordon, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne, James Garrett as Alfred, Maury Sterling as Hush, Geoffrey Arend as Riddler, Vanessa Williams as Amanda Waller, Jason Spisak as Joker, Adam Gifford as Bane, Peyton List as Poison Ivy and Batgirl, Dachie Alessio as Lady Shiva and Tara Strong as an unnamed reporter. The image shows Hush's version of Batman and can be seen below:

Given Conroy and Hamill's strong interest in the Hush project, it's somewhat curious that they haven't been included on this occasion, despite their history in the animated realm of Batman. With that said, Jason O'Mara has voiced the Caped Crusader in the past and others such as Jerry O'Connell, Rainn Wilson and Rebecca Romijn are also names that many DC animation fans will already be familiar with. The cast does, however, include a few pleasant surprises. Peyton List has already portrayed Poison Ivy on Gotham, so her addition presents a nice piece of franchise continuity and veteran voice actress Tara Strong has previously played Harley Quinn in other animated features. Could she secretly be reprising the role in Hush?

As for the image, even though only Batman is featured, it's clear that Hush will feature a different visual style to the comic source material and will be more in line with other animated movies such as Gotham Knight and Son of Batman, the latter of which also starred O'Mara as the famous vigilante. It'll be fascinating to see this sleeker version of Batman take on the Hush story.
