Warning: contains major spoilers for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #4!

Stranded in the world of FortniteBatman has formed a new team, but there's a deadly traitor hiding in their ranks. Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #4 has changed the crossover comic from a battle royale to a murder mystery full of betrayal. The game is afoot, and thanks to the memory-erasing nature of Fortnite's reality, any character could be hiding a deadly secret.

Fortnite has a broad cast of original characters, but up until now this comic hasn't focused on them except as obstacles to Batman's mission. Batman has fought several enemies so far - including G.I. Joe's Snake Eyes - but because they all lack the ability to speak, they all remained nameless. Now, having escaped the combat loop of Fortnite and regained the power of speech, Batman is teaming up with six player avatars, as well as Deadpool and Catwoman in a bid to escape this world for good. Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #4 comes from the creative team of Donald Mustard, Christos Gage, Reilly Brown, Nelson Faro DeCastro, and John Kalisz.

Batman's Fortnite crew is composed of Raider, Bandolette, Bonehead, Magnus, Fishstick and Voyager. Raider has been on the island the longest and has the most information available to share with Batman. Bandolette, Bonehead, and Magnus don't say very much, but they all agree that they've done their fair share of killing each other in the past. Voyager doesn't have many lines, but he can get Batman a map. Fishstick's a useful ally for as long as he lasts - since he's the one murdered by the issue's end - though he succeeds at collecting new information for Batman to evaluate thanks to his ability to breathe underwater. Sadly, he also reveals the presence of a traitor, though it costs him his life.

Of all the new members in Batman's ragtag group, the most suspicious is definitely Deathstroke. With the little information provided this issue, Raider also seems to be a fair choice for the role of traitor. One particular clue points to excluding Bandolette, Bonehead, and Magnus from suspicion. Bandolette mentions the previous round and how they're guilty of killing each other. This is a pointed remark towards Bonehead. The fearsome Fortnite fighter also comments on Magnus's ability to cut people in half. If she remembers them and they faced her, then none of them can be the outlier who has been outside the loop the entire time - something readers also know is the case for Catwoman. This leaves Deathstroke, Raider, and Voyager as prime suspects.

As mentioned, Voyager doesn't have many lines, though he does mention that his codename is something the rest of the group came up with, downplaying the sense that he has any memories from the time before Fortnite, which Batman suspects the traitor possesses. Raider claims to have escaped the loop before any of the others, giving her the perfect cover if she was never trapped within it at all. She also has the most information of anyone thus far. This is credited to her being outside the loop longest, observing others' escape attempts while making her own. With all the information she has and her four-year stay on this island, she could either be the traitor or she could be the key to unraveling this mystery.

Deathstroke on the other hand is the number one suspect. He is generally a villain, has acted violently and suspiciously towards Catwoman and Batman since the Dark Knight arrived, and it wouldn't be out of character for him to backstab anyone for personal gain. At the same time, the series has already shown there's a portal to Fortnite in Gotham, offering an easy explanation for why Deathstroke would be present alongside the Dark Knight without any connection to the shadowy forces behind the scenes, and there's no proof Deathstroke remembers his life before the game world. Batman will continue trying to solve the mystery of Fortnite - and find the traitor - when Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5 hits retailers June 15.
