Warning: contains major spoilers for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5!

DC's Omniverse recently replaced the continuity of multiverses with the start of Infinite Frontier, but the Omniverse is much smaller than what Batman has found in the world of FortniteBatman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5 has access to the biggest version of a multiverse. This universe makes the Omniverse look tiny by comparison. It not only explains how Fortnite is able to host characters from so many different franchises, but it also opens the potential for many more crossovers in the future.

Fortnite has had numerous crossovers including Batman, other DC characters, Thanos, The MandalorianPredatorHalo, and many others. Although Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point is the game's first crossover in a comic book, there could be more in the future. DC has shown fans numerous universes and has rebooted and reorganized its multiverse several times. Infinite Frontier reset the DC universe, creating the Omniverse, which contains every story DC has told within its range of imprints. Fortnite could easily bring more characters from DC's Omniverse into its world.

Created by Donald Mustard, Christos Gage, Christian Duce, John Kalisz, and Andworld Design, Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5 has shown exactly how Fortnite is able to access so many worlds, so easily. It turns out that this game roundaboutly has the biggest known universe - as it encompasses every other that DC and Marvel have to offer thanks to an access point. The Zero Point is a portal that can be opened to any world, allowing characters to travel to and from their world to Fortnite's.

The world of Fortnite just became exponentially bigger as its world-crossing mechanism has been revealed. This Zero Point explains not only why so many properties' characters are able to exist in the world of the game, but also how characters from different properties can exist in the world at the same time. The portal Batman discovers can be opened and closed very quickly to different places. When it is fully functional and operated by someone who understands how it works, it must be incredibly effective. Not only does this explain how Fortnite has been able to bring in so many characters, it also opens the potential for some interesting crossovers.

This comic has shown Batman in Fortnite's universe, as well as Catwoman, and Deathstroke from DC. However, it also brought in G. I. Joe's Snake Eyes, who fought Batman in a previous issue. This crossover creates the opportunity for characters from completely different parent companies to meet - like Batman and Snake Eyes - and fight each other in ways they normally wouldn't. The potential going forward is almost limitless if creators can be brought onboard with IP licensing in new comics. Hypothetically, it could be possible for the Dark Knight to meet Captain America or many other characters from beloved properties in other comics and franchises. He could meet John Wick or a Terminator. If not Batman, another character from any other property could. Fortnite comics have opened the possibility to tell numerous stories should the partnership with comic companies like DC continue into the future. The ability to access any other companies' multiverses makes Fortnite's universe much bigger than players would have originally believed. Thanks to Batman’s detective skills, the reveal of Fortnite's Zero Point – a door to endless possibility - truly makes DC's Omniverse look small.
