Warning! Spoilers ahead for Batman #98.

It's finally time: Batman has sent out the call, and his family is going to answer him when he needs them the most. And not a moment too soon, considering that taking the fight back to Joker in James Tynion IV's Joker War is going to require all the help Bruce Wayne can get.

Thus far, Batman has been struggling to keep his head above water, as the Joker's attacks have been relentless, tormenting both Batman and Bruce Wayne in equal measure, leaving him very little breathing room. However, that's all about to change, as Batman rallies the Bat-Family to join him in his fight.

In Batman #98, the Dark Knight is trying to flush a new blend of Joker toxin out of his bloodstream, after bearing witness to Joker's true plan. Inviting everyone in Gotham to attend every theater and movie house in the city to watch the same movie Bruce Wayne saw with his parents the night of their deaths... then dosing them with his new toxin. Joker reveals the plan by filling that very theater with the corpses of every one of his victims Batman failed to save.

At the start of Batman #98, Harley Quinn is assisting Batman, but not before the toxins in his system create a vision of Alfred Pennyworth alive. His dear butler, friend, and surrogate father helps get him back on the right track, telling him that he has to let go of the pain and guilt he bears for his parents' and Alfred's deaths. He has to stop pushing away his family, and start relying on them once more and perhaps to an even greater capacity. He doesn't have to be Batman alone. Alfred tells Batman to find his family, take back his city, and be the Batman he needs to be. When Bruce wakes up, it looks like that's exactly what he's going to do.

Many Batman fans are probably thinking that it's about time Bruce called his family to his side to deal with Joker once and for all. However, it will be interesting to see which Family members actually answer. Damian Wayne, Bruce's son, might not answer the call. He's currently abandoned the Robin mantle, due to some rather large problems with his father at the moment. Furthermore, Dick Grayson is currently under the sway of Joker himself, have been mind controlled, believing himself to be the Son of Joker.

In any case, there are those such as Catwoman, Red Hood, Tim Drake, Batgirl, Spoiler, Batwoman, Duke Thomas, Luke Fox, Cassandra Cain, and perhaps even more who will no doubt come to the Batman's aid when they hear from Batman. The Bat Family has always been there, and all the Dark Knight had to do was make the call. While he may not have his money or all of his typical assets, Batman does have the one thing that Joker could never take, or have himself: a family.
