DCEU movie fan art imagines actor Dane DeHaan as Jason Todd in The Batman. When fans of a franchise are excited about seeing their favorite characters come to life on the big screen, they often know exactly how they want it to be done - including casting. It's become common practice lately for fans to make posters which feature their top choice actor for a certain role. There's certainly been a lot of that lately with the movies based on DC Comics, with fans imagining how Guy Pearce would look as Reverse Flash or Janelle Monáe as Batgirl.

With at least five DCEU movies planned for the next three years, as well as several others in the works, there are certainly a multitude of characters to choose from. So, it might seem a little far-fetched to make fan art of a character that the movies have already established as dead, such as Jason Todd. The second Robin to fight at Batman's side, Todd was established as having died before the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Todd's murder by the Joker haunted Batman for a long time in the comics, and his death in the movie universe might help explain why Ben Affleck's take on the character is so morose and driven.

Recently, Batman v. Superman director Zack Snyder revealed that Bruce Wayne held onto Todd's bike, and that it could be seen in the movie. That single easter egg reveal was all it took to get Twitter user JNapierrr to make fan art of the actor he would most like to see play Todd - Dane DeHaan.

Zacks comments about Robin reminded me just how perfect Dane DeHaan would be as Jason Todd in my opinion.

In the art, Jared Leto's version of The Joker is menacing an already injured DeHaan as Todd. In the comics, Jason Todd was an initially popular character who became less well liked after a writer and story change. Eventually, The Joker beat up the character and left him to be killed by some explosives. When comic book fans were given the chance to vote for whether Todd would survive the ordeal or die, well over 10,000 votes came in - and the margin was less than 75 votes - but Todd was killed as a result of the poll. However, he's since come back to life and is now the Red Hood, an antagonist to Batman.

DeHaan is already experienced when it comes to acting in comic book based movies. He recently starred in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and played Harry Osborn aka. Green Goblin II in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. At this time, it is not clear if Jason Todd will ever be a living character in the DCEU. But if his story was told in flashbacks, or he shows up as The Red Hood in Matt Reeves' Batman solo film, than it is certainly possible to tell Todd's story on the big screen.
