An intriguing cosplay session is doing what the Dark Knight's films won't and gives Batman an appropriate set of armor. Two talented cosplayers brought the chilling villain Mr. Freeze to life and gave the Caped Crusader a clever outfit to go along with it.

It goes without saying that a Batman movie just wouldn't feel right without bringing the hero's iconic rogues' gallery with him. In the movies starring the Caped Crusader, fans have seen him face off against the Riddler, Two-Face, the Penguin, Scarecrow, and Poison Ivy. And while each film captures a degree of what makes Batman's villains so entertaining, they always seem to miss out on one exciting aspect. Unlike the movies, the comics often feature Batman taking on his enemies with unique costumes and armors, personalized for his villains and their gimmicks. Each Batman movie tends to stick with one, maybe two Batsuits, but rarely customize them for Bruce's antagonists.

However, a brilliant cosplay gives Batman the perfect set of armor when going up against one particularly frosty foe. In a post on Instagram by impostercosplay, fans of the World's Greatest Detective are treated to a tableau of Batman taking on the coldblooded, yet tragic, villain Mr. Freeze. impostercosplay plays the part of Victor Fries, wearing a sleek and stylized version of the rogue's iconic outfit, complete with dome head and red goggles. impostercosplay is joined by batsturd, who appears as Batman, sneaking right behind his enemy with a weapon. batsturd's costume appears to be based on the one featured in Batman & Robin, though this version has some interesting updates such as a rebreather and several glowing vials on his chest. The post also includes a quote from Freeze in the "Cold, Cold Heart" DLC of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Batman Gets The Perfect Outfit To Fight His Enemies

Clearly, Batman is meant to have created an armored Batsuit in response to Mr. Freeze in this setup. This cosplay session gets to the core of one of the most engaging aspects of Batman, namely the way he gears his outfits towards the specific strengths and weaknesses of his rogues. Not only does it show off the intelligence Batman possesses, but shows the creativity he uses when fighting his villains. The idea of countermeasure Batsuits is something that is lost in the films, but is captured wonderfully here.

Batman is a genius and knows how to perfectly combat his enemies, often turning their own tech against them or finding ways to nullify their powers. But Batman’s Batsuits in the films often stay the same, with rarely any adjustments when he takes on his villains. As impostercosplay and batsturd’s session shows, this misses out on one of the coolest things about Batman. He’s ready, willing, and able to make the necessary adjustments to his suit in order to properly take down villains like Mr. Freeze. The duo’s cosplay excellently captures what makes Batman’s comics so entertaining and reminds fans of what his movies could really use.
