Warning! Spoilers for Batman #118 by DC Comics

To stop a potentially dangerous attack in Gotham City, Batman just cosplayed as one of his great villains, Killer Croc. In Batman #118, the Dark Knight finds himself at a fancy costumed soiree with fellow billionaires, where the rich sport the costumes of the city's greatest villains. So naturally, Batman decides not to go as Batman but instead wears a Killer Croc in a very accurate cosplay recreation of the villain.

Batman #118 features a new creative team and direction for the Caped Crusader, as Joshua Williamson (Justice League Incarnate), Jorge Molina (War of the Realms - Land of Giants) join Mikel Janin, Tomeu Morey, and Clayton Cowles in the next chapter in Gotham City. The creative team takes over for James Tynion IV and Jorge Jimenez (the latter who will return to the series later this year). The series will feature the return of the iconic Batman Incorporated Batsuit, while also starring a brand new villain named Abyss. However, one of Batman's first missions in the comic is to go undercover at a Billionaire Ball costume party.

In Batman #118 by Williamson, Molina, Janin, Tomeu Morey, and Cowles, the Dark Knight is back on the streets of Gotham following the conclusion of the Fear State event. The residents of Gotham celebrate after the Magistrate's defeat and Scarecrow being locked up in Arkham Asylum. However, Batman doesn't rest (or party), so he's on patrol duty, with Oracle informing him a group of hired killers is heading for the Gotham Billionaires Ball. There's only one catch - it's a costume party, and the former billionaire needs a disguise. And a good one, because it's a theme is the "Villains of Gotham." Batman doesn't choose a simple look but instead opts to go as a massive Killer Croc.

Batman Killer Croc Cosplay

While billionaires dress like the Joker, Harley Quinn, and Two-Face (which is all kinds of messed up by itself), Firefly drops in with a team demanding their bank accounts. That's when Killer Croc emerges and knocks down the hired goons, including Riddler and a version of the Joker. Firefly notes he's worked with Killer Croc before and he doesn't move like he is. After melting Killer Croc, Batman - in a full Batsuit - emerges to take down the villains.

Batman cosplaying as Killer Croc at the Gotham Billionaires Ball is hilarious not only because he wore the massive Killer Croc costume, but he wore his Batsuit underneath. So, even when the real him emerged, the clueless billionaires entertained by the very real fight in front of them think it's all just a performance. Batman must have nailed the part because he gets a round of applause after defeating the villains. Batman nailed both his fake Killer Croc cosplay and his real Batman look.
