DC Comics and Batman fans shouldn't expect Bruce Wayne to get time off when the dust settles after the upcoming Joker War event. According to the latest DC Comics solicitations for October, Gotham City is going to get fed up with the continual chaos and is going to start turning against Batman. Not only that, but new threats are on the horizon that the Caped Crusader will have to contend with at the same time.
Fans shouldn't be too surprised for the turn of public opinion heading Batman's way. The people of Gotham City have been through one hell going straight into another recently. The City of Bane and recent Riddler takeover, coupled with the sure to be devastating Joker War this summer is more than enough to push them to the brink and even start hating Batman. Even then, it's not like Batman doesn't know this. He even recently tried appealing to Deathstroke, seeing that the people he protects need a respite. Unfortunately, it seems as though crime will always be a major factor in Gotham, and Batman is going to start taking the heat for it.
According to the solicitation for Detective Comics #1028, a new mayoral candidate will be running an anti-hero agenda, and it seem as though the people are gong to like and respond to their message. Batman is going to have to figure out how to respond to a city of people who are rejecting him. Not only that, but the next solicitation for Detective Comics confirms the public's attitude towards the Dark Knight, while also revealing that a string of murders and new threat is looming. If the art and wording are any indication, it seems as though the new villain will a sort of Headless Horseman type foe, and their murders might involve heads being taken from victims. Perhaps he's collecting them? Also, the solicitations claim that Batman's own son Damian will become a threat as well. A turning point is coming for Batman, and hopefully fans will hang on for the wild ride that's ahead this October. Here's the solicitation for Detective Comics #1028:
