The Bat-Family is about to add a new member. Batman/Catwoman writer Tom King shared an image on Twitter featuring Batman and Catwoman lovingly standing on a gargoyle (as Bat-heroes do). The big surprise from the sneak peek is that Selina Kyle is pregnant.

King and artist Clay Mann's Batman/Catwoman series has teased Bruce and Selina finally getting their happy ending, as the upcoming DC book will explore their entire 50-year relationship. The book spins out of the pages of King's 85-issue run on Batman and will finish the Bat and the Cat's epic love story. The Batman romance comic will be one of the biggest examinations of the couple's relationship - which seems to include having a child together, based on King's recent Twitter activity.

It wouldn't be the first time Batman and Catwoman had a child. Their daughter, Helena Wayne, first appeared in DC Super Stars #17. Helena was born in the late 50s and lived in an alternative universe that took place in DC's Golden Age era. She worked at a law firm with Dick Grayson and after the death of her mother, Selina Kyle Wayne, Helena put on a mask and became the first version post-Golden Age version of the Huntress. Her character would later become Helena Bertinelli (who was recently played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Birds of Prey) following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, as DC introduced her to the main continuity with an entirely different family and story. It's fully possible this child is a brand new character to DC lore, but it would be an interesting way to reintroduce Helena Wayne back into the Bat-family without overstepping the current version of Huntress.

Batman Catwoman Pregnant

The striking image was drawn by frequent King collaborator Mikel Janin and colored by Jordie Bellaire, who will be working on Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular with King. This image very could well be a part of that series.

There are a couple of logistic questions like how did Selina fit into the skin-tight suit being despite being that pregnant? Also, how did she get on top of that rooftop? Did she zipline up there pregnant? It's probably best not to overthink it. It's a beautiful image showcasing a surprising and tender moment for Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. Whether this is a cover, a tease of what's to come or just some cool art King is sharing, it's great to see Batman and Catwoman start a family together after all they've been through. We can't wait to read the build-up to Batman/Catwoman and find out just how the two heroes (and a baby) grow together over time.
