Warning: SPOILERS for Flashpoint Beyond #6No matter how hard Batman tries, he will never get his family back, but when he actually does in the Flashpoint Universe, it's pretty horrific.

Things have been crazy with regard to the Flashpoint Universe lately. After it was destroyed, Flashpoint Batman, also known as Bruce Wayne's father Thomas, had his own adventure before returning to the artificial universe. He had been trying to fix the timeline, but he was thwarted at every step by someone killing off people that could help him. This killer was ultimately revealed to be Thomas' wife Martha, who became insane and is this universe's version of the Joker.

In Flashpoint Beyond #6 by Geoff Johns, Tim Sheridan, Jeremy Adams, Xermanico, Mikel Janin, and Gary Frank, the battle between Flashpoint Batman and Joker culminates when they have to unite against this universe's version of Two-Face. In the end, Flashpoint Batman comes out on top and brings his wife Martha back to his Batcave. He then places her in a cell and will keep her there for an undetermined amount of time. Also, Thomas seems to have taken Two-Face's son, Dexter Dent, under his wing, having him become his new Robin.

Bruce Wayne Never Got His Parents Back

The dynamic of Thomas Wayne's family at the end of the issue is pretty crazy in comparison to Bruce Wayne's. He has his own bat family of sorts. His wife is the Joker and is essentially locked in his basement while him and his adopted son go out as heroes and fight crime. In the issue's closing moments, Martha acts like a dutiful housewife and wishes Thomas and Dexter well as they go out into the night. It seems as if they have become some sort of twisted version of a family as their dead son, Bruce, has finally been replaced.

In the mainstream DC Universe, Bruce Wayne tries to replace his dead family with vigilantes. Although their relationships are strained at times, his sons still view him fondly. However, it's not a true replacement for Bruce's dead parents. Bruce never really got any new parents aside from the way Alfred took care of him. Instead, he had to grow up and try to surround himself with a new family. That's not what Thomas Wayne did. When his son died and his wife went crazy, he managed to recreate that lost family with a new adopted son and locked his wife away in a cell. So, although Flashpoint Batman managed to get his family back in a way Bruce Wayne couldn't, it's a much darker version than any family he had before.
