A recent piece of fan art imagines what Timothée Chalamet could look like as Terry McGinnis in a Batman Beyond movie. Following the news that Micheal Keaton is reprising his Batman/Bruce Wayne for The Flash movie, many want to see his character remain in the DCEU as an older mentor to the other heroes. This setup is similar to the premise of Batman Beyond, a cartoon that sees an aging Bruce Wayne take teen Terry McGinnis under his wing, training him as the new Batman.

Batman Beyond has been a cult-classic since the animation aired in the late 90s, early 2000s. The show captivated fans with its futuristic look at Gotham City and a new spin on Batman and his rogues. Along with its predecessor Batman: The Animated SeriesBatman Beyond was recently added to HBO Max's streaming catalog, bringing it again to the attention of fans both new and old. It remains unclear if WB has any interest in bringing a version of Batman Beyond to the big screen, but Keaton's casting certainly paves the way for it. And if so, this new artwork argues that Chalamet would be a great pick for Terry.

In a post on Instagram, artist spdrmnkyxxiii illustrates just how great Chalamet could look as Bruce Wayne's successor, Terry McGinnis, in the futuristic cyberpunk world of Neo-Gotham. Check out the full post below:

Chalamet is quickly becoming one of Hollywood's most sought after stars thanks to his roles in Call Me By Your NameLittle Women, and the highly anticipated sci-fi epic, Dune. Landing a role in a superhero movie seems like a natural progression for Chalamet's career, though there's been no word he's being considered for any of the many in development. As for playing Terry McGinnis, Chalamet wouldn't be a bad choice, and his youthfulness would play well off of Keaton's older, more jaded Bruce.

As of now, WB hasn't made any announcements they're planning a Batman Beyond movie for the DCEU anytime soon, but it's certainly a property their universe could explore. As already mentioned, Keaton is returning as an older Batman for The Flash movie, and it's possible he'll act in something of a mentor capacity to Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) and even to Ben Affleck's Batman, who's also returning. Beyond that, there are currently no known plans for Keaton in the DCEU after The Flash movie, though it's been rumored WB wants to feature him in more movies. If that turns out to be the case, then a Batman Beyond movie is a perfect way to keep Keaton involved and introduce another actor as an even younger Batman. Of course, Robert Pattinson is already starring in another, unrelated Batman movie as a younger Bruce, but clearly, WB isn't too worried about having multiple Batmen on the payroll.
